An aneurysm is a bulge or "ballooning" in the wall of an artery. Arteries are blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood from the heart to other parts of the body. If an aneurysm grows large, it can burst and cause dangerous bleeding or even death.
Most aneurysms occur in the aorta, the main artery traveling from the heart through the chest and abdomen. Aneurysms also can happen in arteries in the brain, heart and other parts of the body. If an aneurysm in the brain bursts, it causes a stroke.
Aneurysms can develop and become large before causing any symptoms. Often doctors can stop aneurysms from bursting if they find and treat them early. Medicines and surgery are the two main treatments for aneurysms.

Open Question: Anyone have any idea what I can do to feel even a little less depressed?
(Tue, 14 Feb 2012 18:25:35 GMT)
I don't really know how to explain my situation without typing five novels, but I'll try to be concise. I've been having really scary problems with my health since I was about 14 years old and am 22 years old now. All of the problems are symptomatic of a brain tumor or aneurysm. I have really, really unbearable head pain almost every second that I'm awake. It feels like somebody inserted a knife through the back of my skull and left it there to get infected; it hurts so bad, and it's all in t

I am a 27 year old female. I have had a headache (severe) since January 27th, it has gotten better with in the past couple day's, a lot better. Although the pain is still there. Before the pain was a 9 now it's a 2, but still annoying. The pain is localized behind my eye's and forehead and it seems it has recently moved to the top of my head as well. I don't recall ever having such an awful headache except for migraines that I had not had in over a year... and the migraines never lasted this l

Resolved Question: Smoking after a year of recovering from Brain Aneurysm?
(Wed, 08 Feb 2012 02:16:15 GMT)
How bad is this for your health? Obviously, smoking is bad for your health without preexisting ailments. I just need some facts about how damaging it could be for someone who suffered a brain aneurysm. My friend quit smoking for about a year, and now she is smoking again. What could I say that would convince her of how dangerous it is?

Resolved Question: Am I going to the "wrong" church a hypochondriac, or does my friend sound like a hypochondriac?
(Thu, 19 Jan 2012 14:51:11 GMT)
A close friend of mine claims an aneurysm was discovered on an X-ray in 1999 after a car wreck. He is 67 years old. He has not had surgery or treatment for it. If this is true, how is it that it hasn't disected. I had a cousin half his age (32 years old) who died immediately from an anuerysm. My friend also had gotten "messages from God" in the past that he was going to pass away in a certain month, which didn't happen. He says his being here after that are "extensions from God". My brother is 53 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and Arrhythmia. Approximately a year ago, he had a brain aneurysm but recovered completely from that. All of his life he worked in highly physical jobs, mainly in the logging industry. At one point, for several years, he also owned his own small business in a small town - a storefront in which he rented out business spaces and also operated his own variety store. Resolved Question: Is anyone depressed about their physical health?
(Fri, 04 Mar 2011 18:06:20 GMT)
I was born with a ventricular brain aneurysm that had developed prior to birth. The aneurysm caused a condition called Hydrocephalus. A close family member of mine just recently died of an aortic aneurysm (the artery ruptured) and I want to find out why and how he died. This is what I know before he died - that for three months leading up to his death he went on a diet that consists of a really high intake of salt; he had heart problems before (chest pains); suffers from hypertension but self-medicates for it; and also he had a neighbour who constantly causes him stress. Based on this information, I want to know if it's poss
