What is Ankylosing Spondylitis?
Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of arthritis of the spine. It causes swelling between your vertebrae, which are the disks that make up your spine, and in the joints between your spine and pelvis. Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease. This means your immune system, which normally protects your body from infection, attacks your body's own tissues. The disease is more common and more severe in men. It often runs in families.
Early symptoms include back pain and stiffness. These problems often start in late adolescence or early adulthood. Over time, ankylosing spondylitis can fuse your vertebrae together, limiting movement. Symptoms can worsen or improve or stop altogether. The disease has no cure, but medicines can relieve the pain, swelling and other symptoms. Exercise can also help.

(Fri, 10 Jun 2011 16:17:22 GMT)
I am about to turn 26, I have a ton of slightly serious health problems (arthritis, polycystic kidneys, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis, ehlers-danlos). I have a lot of prescriptions and chronic pain, I have at least one appointment somewhere every week. I have been on my mom's insurance and am absolutely terrified of losing insurance.
I am going to attend graduate school full-time this fall. For some reason I can't find ANY information on whether or not I would be all

Resolved Question: Why is it every December I get hospitalised? Almost on the dot every December I fall ill in some way!?
(Thu, 25 Nov 2010 00:38:31 GMT)
Why do I always get ill at christmas every year? And no its not to do with my immune system and bugs, I don't get infected with a bug. I have the HLA B27 gene which basicaly means I'm succeptible to inflamatory problems in my body. For the past 8 years, each year in December I have been hospitalised. First two years with severe back pain, turned out to be ankylosing spondylitis. Next three years, one after the other with severe anemia due to internal bleeding, turned out to be ulcerative

(Sun, 27 Dec 2009 14:13:19 GMT)
I have a series of health problems, all resulting from my increased tendency to get inflamation as I have the HLA-B27 gene (inflamatory gene).

Suspected candida and parasite infections
I am only 21 but I am fed up with taking all sorts of bad drugs to cover up the symptoms whilst jeopardising something else in my body.
I have been researching Hulda Clark zappers a bit and have now come across the Bec

(Fri, 11 Apr 2008 01:17:42 GMT)
My fiance has many health issues that seem to point toward ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis in his back, lung problems, uveitis, ect.........), he has been tested for virtually everything else it could be. I have been reading lately about Lyme disease however, which he has not been tested for. I feel like he has some symptoms that are consistent with Lyme disease and not AS - such as sinus problems, very clumsy, worsening memory problems, general worsening cognitive difficulties, ect......I
