Resolved Question: SURVEY: Do you like Wikipedia?
(Mon, 16 Jan 2012 22:46:34 GMT)
The domestic cat[1][2] (Felis catus[2][1] or Felis silvestris catus[4]) is a small, usually furry, domesticated, carnivorous mammal. It is often called the housecat,[6] or simply the cat when there is no need to distinguish it from other felids and felines. Cats are valued by humans for companionship and ability to hunt vermin and household pests. Cats have been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years,[7] and are currently the most popular pet in the world.[8] Owing to their close asso

Resolved Question: Cat Scratch and then? (afraid of rabies-disease)?
(Mon, 31 Oct 2011 22:57:44 GMT)
Hello guys,
I know there are so many questions and answers about it but my question is little different. On my street, there is a cat which I see it very often. Today, it scratched me from my hand and the cut was filled with blood but it did not bleed. I am afraid of having infected '' bacteria or rabies'' from the scratch. 2 hours later, my body is not quite well, I feel terrible. I mean, I have an ache in my right back of my head which worries me a lot. Also, started to remove gas from my b

Resolved Question: Odds of ALL Leukemia relapse after 12 years?
(Sat, 24 Sep 2011 03:53:19 GMT)
I've been in remission for 12 years after receiving chemotherapy for ALL Leukemia; I was diagnosed when I was 4 years old and entered remission when I was 8 years-old and was released from my Oncologist's care when I was 18 years-old.
I'm a junior in college now and have been sick with nausea and headaches (with high fevers) for the past 9 days. My blood tests show no elevated cell counts or anything out of the ordinary; but, when I was first diagnosed, my tests came back normal which is why

(Mon, 17 Jan 2011 04:59:09 GMT)
Recently I had a terrible aching in my back, a runny nose, and a fever. Now I have a canker sore inside my lip and sensitive teeth. Some people have said that it's herpes but please tell me it's not. If it helps you guys at all; about a week ago I got scratched by my cat, the last time I kissed someone was two weeks ago, and the birds around my house seem to have a disease as they are dropping like flies. Those are the only recent health concerns that I have come into contact with. Please help

Resolved Question: My cat Fudgie - I have a concern about her increased appetite?
(Thu, 09 Dec 2010 21:19:58 GMT)
Hi everyone, this is my first question on here. I have had my cat Fudgie (looks like a fluffy chocolate Fudge Brownie awwwww lol) since she was a kitten, for the past 6 years she's been living with my ex. I now have her in my care, she is now 7 years old. She came to me very unwell and in desperate need of TLC and a trip to the vet. She had a skin disease, fleas, two types of worms, underweight, hair loss and general her spirit wasn’t there. She has been with me for just under 2 weeks now and

Resolved Question: My cat has a pooping problem, and if she doesn't stop she will have to go. Help?
(Wed, 07 Jul 2010 04:32:36 GMT)
My cat is 9 or 10 years old. We adopted her at age 1. For some reason, she keeps pooping on the floors of our basements. It has been going on for a couple of years now, maybe even longer, because in our recent move we found a bunch of hidden piles behind things. The house we are now in has new carpet, and she has started pooping on it. The litter is cleaned at least once a day, if not twice. We have a kitten we found a while ago, and now two litters. At the other house, there were about 4 spre

Resolved Question: My dog got bitten/scratched by a cat on the tongue?
(Wed, 23 Jun 2010 09:28:25 GMT)
It was a stray cat, and we're not so sure whether it has rabies or any other kind of disease or not.
We've cleaned the wound out, but can we use peroxide? Wouldn't it be bad for her if it is in the mouth? Is it a problem that is necessary to discuss with a personal vet?
We're not very sure whether it was a bite or a scratch, though, as we were not close to her when it happened
Please let me know as I am very worried about my dog's health.

Resolved Question: found kittens in my shed and thought they were cute. came back the next day and all were gone except one?
(Wed, 21 Apr 2010 20:42:11 GMT)
i found kittens in my shed and then came back the day after and they were all gone including the mother except one kitten. it was shivering and scared. i figured that they would be back eventually. they seemed old enough though to begin on their own.
their eyes were wide open,
they played with eachother (clawing/scratching/ and play biting)
they could run and walk but were semi off balance.
scared of noise but not people.
i left it alone and came back one more time and it was alone/scared/

Resolved Question: Do hamsters effect people with low immune systems?
(Tue, 20 Apr 2010 22:25:40 GMT)
Well, I have a disabled little brother who has a low immune system ( he has Chromosome 22 and 4 default as well ) and doctors say if he got chicken pocks there is big chance that he dies (that's how serious it is!), so am scared if I might get a hamster that he might catch a disease and die because of ME. At first I wanted a cat (since i was a kid I now am 15; don't remember a time where i did not want one, it would be a dream come true), but now that I know that I cannot have one, as it woul

(Tue, 19 May 2009 13:35:11 GMT)
Ok tell me if I'm being unreasonable from a non-crazy cat lady point of view please. A little over a week ago I adotped what I was being told a 8month old shy cat who was in healthy condition with all of his shots. This is my first cat but I figure I'll work with him he's a cutie. Since getting him home I've realized he has a constant weepy eye with brown discharge, an upper respiratory infection, and a major attitude problem because of it. Resolved Question: Does anyone have some good proven advise about this?
(Sun, 01 Feb 2009 23:22:08 GMT)
My neighbours animals have been a problem since I moved in here. The dog that barks 24 hours a day has been ticketed twice by animal control and she seems to be willing to pay the fines rather than stop the dog. He starts at 5 AM and has been outside barking for as long as 7 hours without a let up.
Just after I moved in I noticed her cats, I think she has four now, using my flower beds as a litter box. I asked her to control their ramblings, mine isnt allowed outside alone and never leaves t

Resolved Question: Could people advise me on how to make a mid life career change? (UK)?

I'm 44 and currently working as a laboratory technician. I have an MSc in Chemistry but rarely am I able to do any real chemistry and a collection of mild disabilities do make lab work quite trying. I really feel that I'd like to work in the field of political research for a pressure group whose objectives I support or the political party I support.
I really don't know how to make this change. I don't even know which pressure groups might interest me. I do know which political party interests

Resolved Question: What specific health risks can occur for an "immunocompromised" person that has 9 cats?
(Tue, 24 Jun 2008 00:47:19 GMT)
I have a very dear friend that has battled emphysema most of her life. Additionally, she had a cancerous tumor in her abdomen last year that was removed. She is very, very thin due to her constant labored breathing and ongoing health issues. So needless to say, her immune system is quite compromised. I know that there are many diseases, parasites, etc. that cats can carry and pass to humans. What things specifically should I be concerned about for my friend? (All 9 of the cats are indoor cats
