Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the penis. In the United States, it is often done before a new baby leaves the hospital. There are medical benefits and risks to circumcision. Possible benefits include a lower risk of urinary tract infections, penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. These risks are higher for older babies, boys and men.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) does not recommend routine circumcision. Parents need to decide what is best for their sons, based on their religious, cultural and personal preferences.

Open Question: Circumcision? Pros and Cons.?
(Sun, 12 Feb 2012 11:20:54 GMT)
I'm 18. My parents are really chill and back when I was born they didnt get me circumcised because they felt it was something i get to decide, and i respect that. Growing up, like any other teen boy, I watched (you guessed it) porn. And noticed something, mine does not look like that... and i'm not talking about the typical pornstar penis size. I saw that i have what is called foreskin. Now Back when i was young, i didnt care (oh how i missed those days) but being the self conscious person i a

Resolved Question: Am I bigoted for feeling the West is hypocritical on many things? Westerners have double standards?
(Tue, 07 Feb 2012 15:52:48 GMT)
Like, they criticize asians/africans/others for hitting women, but in the US, Cabnada, Australia, etc, women hit men and they arwe given lenient sentences & on TV, they laugh when shows like Saved by the Bell and Step by Step show women pushing or slapping their boyfriends. Moreover, they say female genital mutilation in the Mideast is wrong, but simultaneously, encourage males to be circumcized. Why should a baby have its genitals cut off when it's NOT 100% proven that there are health benefi

Resolved Question: Is it possible that Muslim women don’t want to be free?
(Mon, 06 Feb 2012 12:52:09 GMT)
Muslim holy books and culture seem to assume that women exist to be dependent subjects of Muslim men who guide them throughout their lives, to wit: -Tabari IX:113: "Allah permits you to shut them (women) in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Quran." -Sahih Bukhari: "A praye

Resolved Question: Poll for men on circumcision. (no homo)?
(Sun, 05 Feb 2012 09:25:46 GMT)
I'm doing an educational study for health on circumcision in the US. All I need is for men to just comment if they are circumcised or not and their age. No other information requested. Please and thank you. I apologize for the no homo comment I was just trying to state off the bat that the question had no sexual motivation behind it. I was bad wording and I'm sorry if anyone was offended.

Resolved Question: Circumcision is acceptable?
(Sat, 04 Feb 2012 16:26:38 GMT)
Imagine if there weren't millions of delusional people who believed they had to cut a piece off of the penis of their child to please their imaginary God. Just imagine it wasn't that common. People would end up in jail or be declared insane for doing it, unless there were compelling medical reasons. 'Oh hey, yeah our baby boy is doing fine. Yesterday we decided to cut a piece off his penis because we believe that's what our God wants us to do.' - o.O It's absolutely comparable female circumc

Resolved Question: Emancipation of male genitals?
(Fri, 03 Feb 2012 10:25:49 GMT)
Requires the end of forced male circumcision. But I'd now concentrate on male gonads. It is not entirely uncommon to hear a female jokingly 'confess' to wanting to have a penis, if only for some time or for a female to have a dream where she had one and put it to use. What remains in question is if these females would also like to have testes to have the complete package. - We need to consider that we're living in a time of political correctness gone out of control and that feminism is fair

Resolved Question: What are your opinions on knowing your baby's gender before birth?
(Mon, 30 Jan 2012 21:30:24 GMT)
My boyfriend and I have quite a ways to go before we even think about having kids, but we were discussing a lot of child related things the other day and it got me thinking. I know of couples who decided they'd rather be surprised about their baby's gender and therefore didn't find out until the day of birth if they were having a son or daughter. But I believe that in most cases, people choose to know beforehand what they're having, especially if they want to be able to purchase clothing and g

Resolved Question: Why isn't infant circumcision illegal in developed countries such as the USA and the UK?
(Mon, 30 Jan 2012 00:57:12 GMT)
There is no difference in circumcising a newborn baby boy then it is to seriously assault someone, if somebody wants to get circumncised when they are older then that is fair enough because they have consented but a baby is not and cannot consent to getting a part of his body amputated. The law fails to protect babies. Religion is not a reason to cut off a part of a babies penis. No man or woman can argue with nature, we have gone milions of years of evolution and nature has intended men to ha

Resolved Question: I think I was circumcised as a baby?
(Thu, 26 Jan 2012 02:48:44 GMT)
I'm 15. I got curious talking in health class about circumcision whether or not I'm circumcised. My penis has like a clump of foreskin that ends at the head of the penis, it does not cover the head at all unless I stretch it. There's a little brown line on my penis too, and there's enough skin to masturbate freely. Am I circumcised?

Resolved Question: Why do feminists keep talking about "male privilege" but ignore "female privilege"?
(Sat, 14 Jan 2012 23:52:02 GMT)
http://www.amptoons.com/blog/the-male-privilege-checklist/ I found this in the comments (comment 155) of above website. Why is feminism so biased and one sided? Why can't they admit both genders have pros and cons?? 1. You are almost never expected to fight. 2. If you do something wrong or upset someone, people will be more lenient and nice to you. A man is more likely to be shouted at or challenged to a fight. 3. Gender quotas and “positive discrimination” force employers to give women pr

Resolved Question: Do you support cosmetic surgery for babies--such as, circumcision? What about face lifts and tummy tucks?
(Fri, 13 Jan 2012 19:26:14 GMT)
God isn't commanding any of these be done to babies or adults, so wouldn't circumcision be purely cosmetic procedures. Now, if you don't believe in God... then I suppose you agree with me that God isn't commanding it to be done, so let's not get hung up on that. The foreskin is not an abnormality, like cleft lip (for example). It would actually be abnormal if a boy was born without a foreskin. However, some think the penis "looks better" or site a belief in extra infections if the foreskin

Resolved Question: why is the male body a joke?
(Sun, 08 Jan 2012 03:39:01 GMT)
I am bi, and consider both genders to be beautiful in there own way. Except the media likes to show men being kicked in the groin as humorous, and if this groin kick is by a woman, hell its practically justifiable to p*** your pants. Male nudity on screen is often depicted as humorous. what is this telling young men about their bodies? That their a joke? That they look silly? I don't know why now that these thoughts of circumcision are just now coming to me more stronger than ever, but they are. I was reading up on the pros and cons of them and I'm just very confused. Resolved Question: Faithful - How do you feel about removing little infant girls breast nodes to protect them from breast cancer?
(Thu, 15 Dec 2011 14:32:01 GMT)
Circumcision is legal on boys in America but not girls . I hear all the time the great health benefits of this barbaric procedure in-directly done for god . By this logic should we not remove the breast nodes on infant baby girls to protect them from getting breast cancer which actually IS a health concern ? I think circumcision is done on boys not for it's health reasons but because it makes doctors wealthy and people think mutilating their children's genitals will seal a pact with god . To

Resolved Question: Medicine has found in beneficial to be circumcised so now it is recommened by secular doctors also?

It keeps away infections and many other health complications. Circumcision was given to Abraham because Adam did not have a foreskin. Abraham came after the mixing with the humanoid animal people that were here before Adam and like other animals whose penis retracted into the foreskin. God gave it to Abraham as a sign that he was not from the animal people but was a son of God. The monkey people will never understand this. Like seriously not one major health organization in the world proves circumcision to have ANY benefits, so why the hell do people still do it to their babies? Are parents just idiots? My uncle works at a hospital and has had to do circumcisions and he says they are the most pointless procedure in the medical field and that its also more harmful then good. Resolved Question: TEENS: What is your opinion on circumcision?

My boyfriend is uncut and apparently kids have been making fun of him. I know that circumcision has literally NO health benefits. My boyfriend's parents are doctors, and honestly i don't believe that it should be imposed on infants. My mother allowed my four-year-old brother to be circumcised at birth, simply because his father wanted him to look like his dad, but in retrospect she really regrets it. Infant genitalia mutilation for males is still legal in America but illegal for females . First this is sexism . Now we live in a secular nation that can't justify IGM with gods pacts so they cry hygienic reasons of which the original script writers knew nothing about . I hate my parents for having mine done . Resolved Question: Why are the faithful always taking things out of context ?

I notice whenever I bring up infant genitalia mutilation , they call it circumcision or for health reasons . Or when they deny their children medicines to cure acute pain and distress because of ancient scree's . Insensitive attitudes toward male genitalia? First let me say that I acknowledge that there are many forms of sexism and violence occurring against women and I am 100% against that. Now that we have got that out of the way, let me talk about some specific forms (subcategories of anti-male sexism) of sexism against men and boys. Not all sexism and such, just some of it. Insensitive attitudes towards male genitalia can consist of visual and symbolic imagery, written or spoken speech as well as

Some are always here these lazy women online who are too lazy to get pap smears which they should be getting regardless of rather their partner is circumcised or not. Cervical cancer, when detected early, is very treatable. In addition, there is also a vaccine that would PREVENT around 70% of cervical cancers in women, yet this is totally ignored in the light of circ (and men can get the vaccine too). Is it true that in the US circumcision rates are declining every day because of parents awareness about the importance of the foreskin (prepuce) or because of the ethical and integrity issues?
