there is a crisis center for mental health emergencies that i have been to twice. the last time i was there was 2 and a half weeks ago. and the time before that was about 4 months ago. i have been in a crisis for a while now because of seemingly permanent effects psychiatric meds have on my brain, even after not taking them in quite a while. my brain may be so weird in not returning to its normal state after stopping a med because i was in a come when encephalitis 10 years ago.

Resolved Question: Could these have been symptoms of a spiked drink?
(Fri, 02 Dec 2011 14:33:16 GMT)
Hi, I had a "physical weakness episode" a couple of days back, and I'm almost certain it was fully endogenous (i.e., caused by my own bad daily regimen). However, since I was at a coffee house immediately prior, I can't completely exclude the possibility the drink may have been spiked. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the probability of that, based on the following description. This is likely one for medical professionals or others with some kind of substance experience.
Anyway, I had a rush o

Resolved Question: I had a form of Viral Encephalitis when I was three years old, now 22 am curious to know if I am at risk now.?
(Mon, 24 Oct 2011 02:23:43 GMT)
I have been having some health issues over the past year or so and just happened to wonder if anything I am experiencing now could be residual or completely unrelated.
I guess my biggest question is: are people who have suffered from such a condition early in life at any higher risk for developing any conditions or disorders later in life?

Resolved Question: Is Psychiatry A Science? Gotta Read This.?
(Wed, 02 Feb 2011 05:43:48 GMT)
In order to answer this question objectively, we must understand what science is. Science is a method of indifferent experiments aimed at proving a theory. Someone comes up with a hypothesis, or "educated guess", but then has to PROVE this theory, using a series of controlled experimentation until objective, universal, and repeatedly verified facts can be obtained. This must be established in order for the theory to be proven beyond just an idea, to gain AUTHORITY in the way it is applied to t

Resolved Question: Trying to diagnose cause of chihuahua sudden blindness followed by a seizure a month later.?
(Mon, 13 Dec 2010 05:43:01 GMT)
Female chihuahua, 10 years old, became blind in a very short time, maybe a month. She then adjusted well, but had a seizure, although she didn't lose consciousness. She had 7 seperate events lasting about a minute with intervals of about 15 minutes between. Gritting of teeth, body stretchted out taut with paws spread, and jumping like being shot out of a rocket were the types of behavior. No loss of urinary or bowel control. Took to vet and was put on Prednisone and Phenobarbital. Told s

Voting Question: Help with medical facts for encephalitis/meningitis story?

I have to write a story about someone who develops one of these diseases, showing their symptoms over time, treatment, and recovery. I have researched and know some about each of them, but I want to get a better grasp on how things flow when someone really has it. If you are a medical professional, or have had a personal experience, I would really appreciate the help. It could be about meningitis/encephalitis/or meningoencephalitis.

Voting Question: I THINK MY DOG HAS A BRAIN TUMOR OR ENCEPHALITIS. HELP!!?
(Tue, 12 Oct 2010 12:57:52 GMT)
I would like to begin by thanking everyone that is reading my post. My dog’s name is Simba. He is a 4 lbs yorkie about 3 years old. The story begins by Simba being perfectly health and active. About 3 weeks ago we noticed that his teeth were getting really nasty so we took him to the vet to get a standard teeth cleaning. This is where all the problems began. They put Simba under and cleaned his teeth. As most pet owners know, the dog is all groggy when you pick him/her up, so when we br

Resolved Question: can I sue my father for money?
(Mon, 04 Oct 2010 05:03:22 GMT)
I took care of my mom from 1998-2003. When she got sick my dad didn't hire a home health care worker or put her in a nursing home. She got viral encephalitis which left her unable to work, or take care of herself. I had to also raise my to kids ages 5-8 then. Dad never paid me to do what a home health care worker should. He didn't want to do anything with her. He would go to work, play golf anything to not have anything to do with her. He took her to dinner maybe once a week. Of all my family

My welsh pony mare, Dusty, age 18, came up lame friday evening. She seemed to guard her left shoulder, and we decided we would watch it, and if it worsened we would call the vet. Saturday she tripped on her way out, then came back dragging her toes and tripping on an incline, in which we realized it maybe neurolgical. We called our vet, who is also a family member who was coming over easter sunday. On sunday she seemed to have worsened, stumbeling on uneven ground, trouble backing with head up

Resolved Question: What is wrong with me?
(Sun, 22 Feb 2009 17:53:37 GMT)
I have had flu symptoms for the last week or so. I am constantly worried about my health. I have had paranoid thoughts of becoming gay, but I kind of worked that out. And I came to the conclusion that it was homosexual OCD. But I have experienced these symptoms in the last week or so...headache, poor appetite, loss of energy, confusion, personality changes, slight memory loss, and drowsiness. At times I think I'm being paranoid about it, but I can't help it. I am convinced that i have Encephal

Resolved Question: Can humans catch meningoencephalitis or just encephalitis from felines?
(Mon, 06 Oct 2008 09:00:33 GMT)
My daughter has brought home a kitten, and it's blind. I know that doesn't mean it definitely HAS meningoencephalitis, but I know that the blindness can be caused by an infection (viral, bacterial, or protozoal). I wanted to know if humans can catch anything from a feline (it's a little kitten) specifically meningoencephalitis or encephalitis. I plan to take him to the Vet in the morning, since we don't know what caused him to go blind, or if he has any other health problems. Should I be worri

Resolved Question: Pet Cremation.?
(Fri, 18 Jul 2008 21:45:24 GMT)
OK, my beloved Coco died, aged 11, in her favourite place on my bed tonight. She clearly went in her sleep as she was curled up as usual on her special pillow and blanket, nect to my pillow so I am confident she did not suffer. It is a great shock to me as she has survived two clashes with a car and seemed in perfect health. I must have found her minutes after she died and my son tells me that she had been eating and her usual kittenish self only a couple of hours before.
I cannot bear the id

Resolved Question: What could cause this (health)?
(Wed, 25 Jun 2008 04:32:15 GMT)
I'm just curious.
Is there any sort of health problem that could lead to mental health issues.
Okay maybe that question doesn't make complete sense,
but for example... HIV can lead to Encephalitis which is inflammation of the brain...so the person was not born with HIV but was infected by it and it lead to this other condition...
what i'm trying to get at is,
is there anything that you are NOT born wwith, that could lead to mental illness? It can even be some sort of physical injury

I'm mostly concerned about preventable death; I realize that no matter what you have a 100% chance of dying some time. I just want to reduce my chances for preventable death earlier on in life. I was thinking about getting a vaccination for every single thing that's approved in the U.S. Will this help me out? Would it affect my health if I got everything at the same time. I'm 26 and I want to get a vaccination for :

Resolved Question: Can an abscessed tooth cause encephalitis??
(Thu, 27 Mar 2008 03:48:07 GMT)
I have asked a few questions about my mom having encephalitis and getting epilepsy from it, but we don't know what caused the encephalitis. I know misquitos can give it to you, but she just got it recently and lives in very cold weather so it's not likely. The only other thing wrong with her is that she has a very bad tooth and needs a root canal. It swells up sometimes and she can't afford a root canal so they told her to get it pulled, but she refuses because she doesn't want a missing tooth
