A fracture is a break, usually in a bone. If the broken bone punctures the skin, it is called an open or compound fracture. Fractures commonly happen because of car accidents, falls or sports injuries. Another cause is osteoporosis, which causes weakening of the bones. Overuse can cause stress fractures, which are very small cracks in the bone.
Symptoms of a fracture are
- Out-of-place or misshapen limb or joint
- Swelling, bruising or bleeding
- Intense pain
- Numbness and tingling
- Limited mobility or inability to move a limb
You need to get medical care right away for any fracture. You may need to wear a cast or splint. Sometimes you need surgery to put in plates, pins or screws to keep the bone in place.

This last weekend I was riding fourwheeler and not really sure what happened.. All I remember is spinning then hitting my head and getting the wind knocked out of me.. I apparently flipped the fourwheeler to its side then right side up again.. And flew off about 10 feet.. I hit my head on the ground and it ended up bleeding quite a bit.. That day and the next I could barely walk.. My whole right side is bruised up... But my main concern is my rib cage.. Right under my breast the first few ribs

Resolved Question: So I have no idea where I stand on my mental health?
(Tue, 03 Jan 2012 00:09:17 GMT)
Yeah. For several months in 2011 I was depressed. I told a friend, who told others, which lead to further depression. I carried on being depressed until said friend told me that if I carried on I was only going to alienate others. I then exhibited a flaw of mine, and forced myself to act cheery to keep others with me; something i'd later regret. I'd already done this several times, only they weren't as important. so I continued, I suppose. you could say that I was still fractured inside. Life

Resolved Question: How long does it take for full recovery if you have a small fracture on your pelvis?
(Sun, 13 Nov 2011 04:41:36 GMT)
I got an small fracture on my left pelvis near the ace tabular from an bad car accident about a week ago. The ER doctor said it was nothing that required surgery and said that it would heal on its own. It's been about a week and 2 days and I am doing much better and I am able to get up and down on my own. But I'm still not able to walk on my own or take a shower on my own and walk down and up stairs just yet. How long would it take for me to fully recover so I can do my daily activities again
