Resolved Question: Do you believe this story about a girl who's never eaten anything but fries and chicken nuggets?
(Sat, 28 Jan 2012 07:21:29 GMT)
And while it says she does have some health problems, the photos look like a relatively healthy woman. I say it must be BS. First, she's not obese. Also, wouldn't a person with such a limited diet have ridiculous vitamin deficiencies? Why doesn't she have rickets at the very least?

Resolved Question: Why does my grandfather want to go back to the UK of his childhood/teens/young adulthood?

His version of Britain was from 1937-1966, a horrible time if you ask me and here is why I think it was horrible -
GREAT DEPRESSION & WORLD WAR II for starters!
Here is also what this country like during his youth days
A time where everyone was racist and hated anyone who wasn't white.
A time where the flag of this country was everywhere and people were patriotic
A time where an old man could go to prison for having a relationship with a 16-year old boy

Resolved Question: Vet or Low-cost Neuter Program?
(Fri, 12 Aug 2011 16:34:36 GMT)
Does anyone have behind-the-scenes info on how low-cost spay/neuter programs are run? I realize that the staff of each program is different and there is no way to know exactly what goes on, but I would appreciate general info if anyone has any. I adopted a dog from the pound and it is time to have him neutered. He had rickets but is now up-to-date on his vaccines (actually, he needs rabies yet, but that will be done shortly), de-worming, flea control, hw-neg, and is doing well with growth and

Resolved Question: Burqa wearing mothers giving birth to diseased, deformed babies, in UK?
(Tue, 26 Jul 2011 14:43:50 GMT)
There is a large surge in babies having rickets due to their mothers hiding in potato sacks all day. They suffer from Vitamin D deficiency, and pass this lack onto their children, who wind up being a burden on British tax payers.
Another good reason to ban the burqa.

ok so i have a math extra credit project for my college Statistics class. My project is to come up with a correlation problem and solve it. Examples used in previous classes include:
-does a person's height have any correlation to their shoe size

things of that nature, I can't think of anything at all, and this extra credit can really help me in this class. An idea that popped up in my head was, does a certain city's weather

Resolved Question: Vegans..what are your Views on this.?
(Fri, 25 Mar 2011 08:19:12 GMT)
Last week the Independent newspaper had a report about a family who had gone vegan, with terrible consequences. A mother, Holly Paige, adopted a raw vegan diet for her family thinking that it was a very healthy and nutritious way of eating. But the diet led to her daughters having growth problems, both being below average height and weight for children of their age, with reduced bone density and very skinny arms and legs.
They had also swollen bellies and pinched cheeks, and most worrying, sm

Could the US be Affected by Food Shortages?

Do you think food shortages are a thing of the past? Don’t bet on it. A Breitbart news article reports: “In ‘World on the Edge’, Brown paints a grim picture of how a failed harvest could spark a grain shortage that would send food prices sky-rocketing, cause hunger to spread, governments to collapse and states to fail. Food riots would erupt in low-income countries and with confidence in the world grain market shattered, the global ec

Resolved Question: What do you think of a vegan diet for babies and young children?
(Mon, 03 May 2010 15:33:43 GMT)
My friend and her husband live entirely on a vegan diet and have done for years.
The diet helped the husband get himself back to good health and when my friend met him she decided to follow suit.
Now they have 2 kids, a 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old.
I would never tell anyone how to bring up their kids because if anyone tried that with me I would tell them where to go but for the last 8 or 9 months I've watched their 2 year old go steadily downhill.

I have certainly gained better health from becoming a vegan, what about you?

Resolved Question: World without sunlight - scandal?
(Sun, 29 Nov 2009 01:58:54 GMT)
It is ridiculous how we have come to fear the sun in this modern, mad world. Should we be living like moles, underground and come out at dark? Do we panic like mad when we see a little sunlight on our shoulders? Should we start fearing moonlight?
No one questions the large corporate companies who make perfumes and products that contain chemicals that react on our skin when exposed to sunlight. It is not the sunlight itself that is damaging, it is pollution, chemicals in the air combined wi

Resolved Question: Should Burkas be banned in public places in britain? (the ones that cover everything other than the eyes)?
(Fri, 27 Nov 2009 02:42:26 GMT)
In my opinion, YES they should, here's why i think they should...
Burkas are a health hazard, because women who wear them are not getting the sunlight they need and so are not getting the Vitamin D they need (which is naturally produced by the action of sunlight on the skin) a lack of vitamin D can increase their risk of cancer, diabetes and bone diseases, it also has wider ranging health benefits.
smoking was a lifestyle choice just like wearing the burka is, so why ban smoking in ALL public

Resolved Question: The first humans (by humans I mean Homo sapiens) were pale to tan skinned?
(Wed, 04 Feb 2009 22:30:39 GMT)
Assuming the date of the birth of humans (Homo sapiens) was around 150,000 years ago, and the location in East Asia, I would imagine that the first humans emerged smack in the middle of an Ice Age, at a time even eastern Africa, a place so near the equator, was cool and lacking in sunlight. Thus, if the date and location of the first humans is correct, the first humans must have had pale to tanned skin, similar to modern Europeans and East Asians, so that they could survive in such locations.

Article taken from Daily Online:
Muslim women who wear the hijab are at risk of serious illness because they do not get enough sun, doctors have warned.
They said an alarming number of women who cover their skin are suffering bone deficiencies over a lack of vitamin D.
Most of the body's vitamin D - which prevents rickets - is obtained through sunlight acting on the skin. Only a little comes from food.
Doctors told a London conference today that people with dark pigment are at risk becaus

Resolved Question: Should we all become vegans?
(Wed, 30 May 2007 01:05:37 GMT)
A Government advisory group is apparently urging the Government to ensure that we all become vegans, ie no fish or animal products whatsoever. They are concerned about the amount of methane gas given off by cattle etc. In that case why the hell didn't we have global warming before the arrival of the Industrial Revolution? The report apparently says that the public should be introduced quite gently to this because there is likely to be strong resistance. You wouldn't chuckle. How dare they.
