Vaginal cancer is a rare type of cancer. It is more common in women 60 and older. You are also more likely to get it if you have a human papillomavirus (HPV) infection or if your mother took diethylstilbestrol (DES) when she was pregnant. Doctors prescribed DES in the 1950's to prevent miscarriages.
It often doesn't have early symptoms. However, see your doctor if you notice
- Bleeding that is not your period
- A vaginal lump
- Pelvic pain
A Pap test can find abnormal cells that may be cancer. Vaginal cancer can often be cured in its early stages. Treatment might include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

I saw this gynecologist every week for the past year because I was pregnant with health problems, and then I needed surgery. During my Pregnancy the Dr did a great job. He was professional, caring, and addressed all of my concerns. Since he did a great job I invited him and his staff to my daughter's blessing, and he came. I also recommended my sister who then right away saw him for her pregnancy. After the pregnancy the doctor's behavior changed. He started to compliment my appearance and sa

Voting Question: I Need Vaginal Health Help!!!!?
(Tue, 22 Nov 2011 01:48:34 GMT)
Recently I have found a couple little white dots on the lip of my vagina. I am 16, sexually active, and don't know what to do. Last year, I was diagnosed with terminal HPV(cervical cancer) and was then tested and it came out clear for genital warts. I looked up the symptoms online for herpes and genital canker sores, but the pictures and symptoms don't always exactly match what I am going through. I have no problem telling my parents but, I don't want them or me worrying for nothing. If anyone

Resolved Question: Why are pro- circumcision women sexist and hate taking responsibility for their own health?
(Thu, 27 Oct 2011 19:56:43 GMT)
Some are always here these lazy women online who are too lazy to get pap smears which they should be getting regardless of rather their partner is circumcised or not. Cervical cancer, when detected early, is very treatable. In addition, there is also a vaccine that would PREVENT around 70% of cervical cancers in women, yet this is totally ignored in the light of circ (and men can get the vaccine too). Do you think this may have something to do with women blaming men for all their problems? A

Resolved Question: irritated lump in crotch area?
(Thu, 06 Oct 2011 20:06:49 GMT)
I'm a virgin. I'm 16 years old. The most intimate I've gotten with a guy is holding his hand. I don't masturbate or anything like that. My period ended over a week ago. And yesterday night I noticed that in my crotch, where my underwear touched my inner thigh, that it was painful. I've gotten irritated there before, maybe a little red just from wearing pads or something. I looked today and noticed a lump there. The lump rises from the skin, so it isn't a lump that you just feel when you pres

Resolved Question: What are some of the health risk of HPV to men?
(Fri, 08 Jul 2011 18:52:47 GMT)
I keep hearing about all the stuff that could happen to women (ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, oral/throat cancer, vaginal odor or abnormal cells that can cause vaginal odor) I have never heard of any effects for men. Are men simply a carrier of the disease or can they be affected by it as well?

I noticed about at least 6 months ago some vaginal warts, I ignored them-tried to pop a few (gross situation, lots of blood and pain) then they would go down but left scars. Finally asked a doctor, he said nothing u can do, they should eventually go away on their own. Well they have spread to more area, and more keep appearing and they get big and any kind of irritation (my underwear, shower, shaving) irritates them and they bleed and pop. They get itchy and burn too! I have some warts on oth

She endowed her legacy with “Kulia i ka nu‘u” or “Strive for the highest.” In 1908, Albert and Emma Kauikeolani Wilcox donated $50,000 to start a children's hospital. On the negative side, spaying female dogs • if done before 1 year of age, significantly increases the risk of osteosarcoma (bone cancer); this is a common cancer in larger breeds with a poor prognosis • increases the risk of splenic hemangiosarcoma by a factor of 2.2 and cardiac hemangiosarcoma by a factor of >5; this is a common cancer and major cause of death in some breeds • triples the risk of hypothyroidism • increases the risk of obesity by a factor of 1.6-2, a common health problem in d

Resolved Question: Can you still orgasm after having ovaries removed (complete hysterectomy) without hormone replacement therapy?
(Mon, 01 Nov 2010 23:55:43 GMT)
I am only 24 years old and I have the breast cancer gene BRCA2. Unfortunately, this gene can cause more than breast cancer. It is associated with an increased risk of ovarian, breast, and melanoma cancer. Ovarian cancer is very difficult to diagnose in its earlier stages and often it is too late once symptoms do occur. This means that my doctor has advised me to have my ovaries removed after I have my children, which will probably be in my thirties. Also, I cannot take Hormone Replacement

Resolved Question: Getting your dog spayed/nurtured. In your opinion, what do you think the right age is?
(Mon, 19 Jul 2010 00:06:55 GMT)
I would like to know what your opinion is on getting your dog spayed/nurtured? I've seen a few people say to wait until the dog is fully mature. Or to wait after the first heat cycle... but my vet always told me to get your dogs spayed ASAP because it reduces health risks. According to my vet you must get your dog spayed/nurtured early because it reduces their chances of vaginal/testicular cancer, and reduces the chance of your dog getting breast tumors. What age did you get your dog(s) spay

I also have been feeling nauseous, ache, especially my lower back, have to pee a lot more often, and - am not sure if this relates - have pain in my left shoulder. Resolved Question: Spaying/Neutering, do the benefits always outweigh the risks? (Not about pet overpopulation but for the dog)?

This is not a controlling pet overpopulation but about the individual dog. So forget for a moment that pet overpopulation is an issue. Resolved Question: Does the pubic bone press into the vaginal wall, causing a bump that your finger will curve around?
(Sun, 04 Apr 2010 00:46:07 GMT)
I've noticed that when I put tampons in, the angle in which I am inserting the tampon changes after a few inches into the vagina. I decided to put my finger inside my vagina and found that there is a large, hard bump on the front of my vaginal wall (facing the bladder, but lower than the bladder) immediately after inserting my finger. When I put my finger in, it curves around it, instead of just going straight up. Others have told me that it is normal to feel a hard spot there, and that it i

Resolved Question: A question for Chiropractors and Homeopathic practitioners?

So, I have a question for Chiropractor's and Homeopaths. But before I ask my question, I need to give some back ground on why I'm asking. About a year ago, a co-worker's wife began vaginal spotting and feeling not quite well. Since she and her husband, my co-worker, seek out alternative health care opportunities, she went to a Chiropractor. He gave her an exam, took x-rays and told her she needed to have treatments three times a week because (paraphrasing here) of the sever subluxations and sp
