INFLUENZA (AFLURIA) side effect was reported on 01/06/2009. Female patient, 48.0 years of age, was vaccinated with INFLUENZA (AFLURIA). After vaccination, patient experienced the following side effects: full blood count normal, gait disturbance, influenza, laboratory test normal, lumbar puncture"Post viral symptoms 4 weeks post Influenza vaccine, increased difficulty ambulating x 4 weeks myalgias, neuropathies, evaluated by ER physician on 12/12/08. 2/5/09 Received ER medical records of 12/20/2008. FINAL DX: left leg pain Records reveal patient experienced difficulty w/weakness since 10/9/08 flu shot. States had flu symptoms shortly after shot & had been having muscle ache of left leg since. On 12/20 had muscle spasms & pain in left leg & it gave out, was unable to bear weight on left leg. Neuro consult done & was WNL. Tx w/meds & d/c to home. Referred to Ortho.". None"Codeine, Valium, Sodium Pentathol, Sulfa, PCN, metal allergy PMH: environmental allergies.""LP, lab work, venous doppler L LE, Xray LLE LABS: CBC & chemistry WNL. Left leg x-ray WNL." . INFLUENZA (AFLURIA) side effect was reported on 03/10/2009. Male patient, 33.0 years of age, was vaccinated with INFLUENZA (AFLURIA). After vaccination, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, anion gap decreased, antinuclear antibody positive, areflexia, aspartate aminotransferase increased"Onset of bilateral profound bilateral brachial weakness approx. 6-weeks after having received the split influenza vaccination (injectable). Vaccine was administered on 8-Jan-2009. Onset of symptoms approx. 15-Feb-09. Patient hospitalized on 5-Mar-2009. 3/13/09 MR received for DOS 3/5-xx/2009 (not yet d/c). DX: Bilateral Brachial Plexopathy. Pt presented with 3 week hx of bilateral upper extremity sensory and motor loss. Initially began as R arm muscle pain and progressed. While running on 2/20/09 pt developed problems breathing which then progressed to R neck, shoulder and arm pain. later developed BUE weakness and numbness. Markedly decreased exercise tolerance. Admitted to r/o GBS/demyelinating process. 15 lb wt loss in last 2 weeks d/t decreased appetite. Neuro exam (+) for decreased stength 0-2/5 in UEs. UE DTRs absent R, diminished L. Sensory loss bilaerally of UEs. Resting O2 sat 93%. Tx with IV steroids with little improvement. Continues with breathing difficulty when supine.". Not knownNot known. INFLUENZA (AFLURIA) side effect was reported on 03/16/2009. Female patient, 57.0 years of age, was vaccinated with INFLUENZA (AFLURIA). After vaccination, patient experienced the following side effects: hypoaesthesia, injected limb mobility decreased, pain in extremity, , "Has continued L upper arm pain and numbness down to elbow, cannot raise L arm above 90 degrees.
