1My Mother Had A Similar Experience. The Calcitrol (rocaltrol) Bound The Calcium In Her System. Her Doctor Didn't Do Blood Work To Monitor This Medication. She Had Hypercalcaemia. Her Kidneys Almost Calcified. My Brother Put Her In A Nursing Home. I Removed Her And Took Her To A Gerontologist Who Did Blood Work. She Was Admitted To The ER Immediately. It Took About Ten Days For The Rocaltrol To Be Flushed From Her System.

Calcitrol Side Effects Report: 5444386-8,Hypercalcaemia, Renal Failure Acute
on Sep 04, 2007 Female patient from UNITED STATES, , 81 years of age, weighting 119.9 lb, was diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency and was treated with Calcitrol. After Calcitrol was administered, patient had the following side effects: Calcitrol and hypercalcaemia, Calcitrol and renal failure acute. Calcitrol dosage: 0.5 Mcg Four Times Daily Po. During the same period patient was treated with ERGOCALCIFEROL, CITRUCEL, FOLIC ACID, AMIODARONE, AGGRENOX, FERROUS SULPHATE. Patient was hospitalized.
