I'm on 40mg 2x day omeprazole, 1g 4x day Sucralfate, 524mg bismuth subsalicylate 4x day, doxycycline 100mg 2x day, and (the one I'm having issue with) metronidazole 500mg 4x a day. My doc is a genocologist and literally searched to put me on a program. Everything I search says metronidazole 250mg 4x a day, the most I found was 500mg 3x day. I've never tried to eradicate this before so they do not know its resistant. The metronidazole makes my stomach really upset and nauseous, I get flushed, dizzy, and feel flu like. With everything I'm on couldn't I just take 250mg 4x a day and stil be effective? I can't talk to the stomach doc until Monday. Any personal experience? I woke up five weeks ago with little white spots on my tonsils and a sore throat. I went to the doctor, he said it was strep (didn’t test me, however), gave me a prescription for amoxicillin and sent me on my way. I felt ok, but not great on amoxicillin and toward the end of the amoxicillin, my tonsils became inflamed and I developed a fever. My primary care doctor quickly prescribed me clarithromycin and referred me to an ENT. A few days later, she did full blood work and throat culture. She was pretty sure it was viral so she told me to stop the clarithromycin. A few days later, my tonsils and lymph nodes swelled up. My best friend had chest xray this week. The finding were "Increased brochovascular markings noted at the right upper zone. It may represent scarring/mind bronchiectasis but superimposed infection cannot be totally excluded. What does this mean? They don't have any history, don't smoke, don't have coughing issues. I am trying to determine the cause of my swollen lymph nodes (one on the back of my head, underneath jaw on both sides and in my trapezius on both sides). They are not tender. Back in October a girl gave me oral sex, and I believed HIV related. Did research and I seen oral sex was low risk and I tested negative at the 8th week mark. Also blood analysis showed proper ranges for wbc and rbc. I noticed my glands were swollen over two weeks ago. Concerned, I went to the doctor and he sent me to get blood taken and the test came back positive for mono. About 6 days ago I started feeling very fatigued and developed a very sore throat. We this moring I had an eyelash in my eye, I took it out easily. Then about 2 hours later my eye(left) became severely red and inflamed, I then went to the school matron(nurse) who gave me an eye wash solution. i am currently taking both clarithromycin and terbinafine for an infected fungal infection. Last week, I developed some sort of sinus/ear/tooth infection. I went to the doctor and was prescribed a seven-day course of clarithromycin (because I can't take penicillin). I also made a dentist appointment, which is today. I have one day of pills left, and the infection is a lot better, but definitely still there. The side of my face and neck is still swollen and sometimes painful, I am still feeling pressure and some pain in my ear, and my sinuses are still draining like they are infected.
