Since the age of 12 I have been on multiple anxiety medications, such as valium and xanax. Around 17 my psych took it up a notch and started prescribing things like Haldol and Geodon along with my xanax. When I turned 19 I no longer qualified for my insurance plan and have not been able to get any medications due to no insurance. All the family/medical doctors say "seek a psych", all the clinics say they can't prescribe such medications, and all the psych's refuse to see me with no insurance.

If your patient who is taking Haldol all of a sudden has his eyes roll back into his head and becomes very stiff what is the proper name for these symptoms and how would you intervene. I have been looking in my drug books and in my psychiatric nursing book, but I am still not exactly sure what to call this. My guesses are tardive dystonia or tardive dyskinesia.
