A friend of mine was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. She has been medicated with Zyprexa and Epival ER, she has to take them during all her life-time. Are there many side effects associated by taking these two medications? It is also hard for her to sleep, so her doctor told her to take 15mg of Zyprexa, but still she is suffering from insomnia. Why is that? Isn't it supposed to help her sleep too? Thanks in advance.

if you were on a cto in the uk and the psychiatrist wanted you to be on a olanzapine depot for a long period of time and you changed phsychiatrist , would the new psychiatrist follow the paperwork of the previous (old) psychiatrist and carry on giving me the depot or would they maybe change to a diferent medication. I've been diagnosed with psychosis and am taking medication called "Olanzapine". Since I started taking this medication, I have been having frequent nosebleeds, say 3-4 a day. I'm just looking for a way to help me suppress my appetite because it's become way out of hand. When I was very low, I lost quite a lot of weight because I didn't want to eat and when I was put on Olanzapine, I gained a lot because I felt 'hungry' all the time. Now I've stopped taking it, I'm still getting peckish when I really don't need to eat.
