I have recently been diagnosed as being iron and b12 deficient. I keep forgetting some of the simplest questions to ask my doctor when I go in. So i went for the glucose test the other day and didn't pass, so i had to go back the next day and do the 3 hr test (did the fasting and didn't take any meds that morning). My doctor prescribed me prenatal vitamins and iron pills when i was 12 weeks...but i have been taking the prenatal vitamins but i don't take the iron pills. I think there is enough iron in the prenatal vitamins. I am a lady and my gyn doc gave me the medication ' repliva' because I loss alot of blood and i am anemic. I was told to take it for 21 day and take none for 7 days. Is it best to take it with or withourt meals? Is this a really good iron pill? What else can I take/ eat to help me with my anemia?

I was told by my doctor that i had minimal anemia so she prescribed repliva 21/7 and primacare prenatals. I had no swelling before taking these. I have taken them for 3 days now and my stool is a lot darker, out of nowhere my ankles were huge last night, and i have noticed my fingers get swollen more and more. this morning none of my rings fit. I took Repliva for 12 days for pregnancy related Anemia, then got really sick (vomiting, etc.) Is it possible I got too much iron? I was also trying to eat more iron rich foods and foods with vitamin C to increase absorption. I already stopped taking it to be sure, will call my doctor on Monday.
