I just started taking Sarafem around April 2nd and I noticed that my anxiety has skyrocketed and not much has calmed my nerves. Is this a normal reaction before I start feeling relief? I read that it takes a few weeks to take effect, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this as well?

I was put on Prozac (Sarafem 10mg version) at 17 years old. It worked well for my anxiety until recently (I'm 21). The doctor raised the Sarafem to 20mg and my anxiety became unbearable. I was then put on 50MG of Zoloft 2 weeks ago. I haven't felt a change, and I'm terrified it is not going to work. I started therapy, which again, has not helped at all. Hi, if you've ever taken fluoxetine, how soon after ingesting it did you begin to feel side-effects? I was prescribed Sarafem by my ob/gyn for pmdd. Now I see alot of negative comments online about the drug. Has anyone on here ever taken it, if so, please tell me of your own experience.

I did some research on newly approved generic drugs, for some reason my pharmacy isn't giving out these generics even though they were approved, is there a reason? I recented started low-dose of Sarafem, which seems to be helping but dont' wnat to be on that the rest of my life. I still have red face, ears, and neck. It would be so great to prevent or cover. It makes sense that rather than having the ups and downs with antidepressants that it would be better to take one daily so you are level all the time, or is this not the case with this drug? I just thought these were not drugs to stop and start like that.

I have this disease. Sarafem, which is an antideppessant is the only drug they perscribe and of course there are side effects. Could meditating and massage be an alternate treatment? I have been down that road of taking antideppressants and they make me feel worse. Does anyone know anything else besides antideppressants that can help. I already exercise five times a week.
