my mother has dpd enzyme deficiency. She was taking xeloda + oxaplatine for stage3 colon cancer (after successful surgery) She became really, scary sick and hospitalized. The lack of the enzyme did her that. Fortunately she overcome it, but as i have read it may was lethal for her. No test-exam was taken before she take the therapy, so nobody knew. The skin on my hands is now peeling off, showing lighter coloured skin underneath.
