I am a 49 year old man, formerly very active, fit and healthy. In 2006, I was diagnosed with stage 3 multiple myeloma. There were bone tumors in my ribs, shoulder, hips and sternum. I underwent radiation for a large tumor mass in my right shoulder, then Thalidomide/Dex and Zometa treatments until 2007. My mom was diagnosed in Nov. '09 with bone metastases. There is a couple small lesions in her pelvis. She has is being treated with Zometa I.V., every three weeks. Nothing in her organs or any other bones. I have bone cancer and am currently getting Zometa infusions every month for treatment. Some say that Zometa builds up in you bones and it is not necessary to get it every month. This treatment has been given for approx one (1) year.

Hi all. My mum is about to start 6 sessions of chemotherapy. She's on 3 drugs; taxotere, cyclophosphamide and zometa. The latter two don't sound too bad in their side effects but I'm a little concerned about taxotere. Are they likely to be severe?
