I have been taking the medication Zonisamide to treat frequent migraines. While this medication has done what the neurologist said it would--take away migraines-- I have noticed my grades in school have dropped. So last night I went out with a few friends, I was the DD and only had two shots during a 9 hour time frame. an hour after we get to the concert I start having trouble walking. My equilibrium felt off balance and it was like my brain kept telling my body to fall backwards. It went away for a little bit and then not too long after it came back but much worse! My brother was on a seizure medicine for only a week, but his insurance won't cover it so his doctor switched him to another medicine zonisamide, and he will stop this one, felbatol. My question is, is it safe for him to just completely stop the felbatol after having been on it only a week?

I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and put on medication for it. (Zonisamide) I started taking the medicine but had to stop because I noticed EXTREME mood swings, and most of the time I felt unable to concentrate. I am 19 and in college. (I stopped taking it to avoid extra stress during finals week.) my girlfriend has been taking the anti convulsant/anti seizure medication zonisamide. She's been on it for 6 weeks. I suffer from about 15 migraines per month. I take Imitrex as an abortive and narcotics to regulate the pain.
