Aclasta

Severe pain for over 2 1/2 weeks now and continuing. The pain is in the buttocks and lower back and is very severe. My docrtor has me on medication and this hardly helps at all. I need some informatiom on how long this will last and how I can get rid of the severe pain.

Deep bone pain in hips and long leg bones for a year. 2 MRI 's showed nothing but some osteo. Don't think I can sign up again because I still have pain/walking issues.

No side efrefcts for 28 hours, then fiever of 100.7 deg.F, wobbliness, headache, swollen eyelids, total malatise.
The night I took a Tylenol 3, a sleeping pill and woke up much better.

Had first ever infusion 2pm. Felt o.k. but woke up early hours and vomited. Severe dull ache across top of back up neck into head. Next day deteriorated more. Had 1 piece of toast 10 a.m. and was again vomiting about 12.30pm. Severe, dull achy pain everywhere more evident in shoulders lower back upper back and back of neck. Difficult to turn head. Did not eat anything until following day such as plain toast. Am keeping it down now but legs are aching today. Severe pain has quitened down. Feel better but weak. Told my G.P. by phone and they will keep a tab of me. May need blood tests they said if doesn't settle down. But at least not feeling that gross sicky feeling.

I had aclasta infusion last September 2010. I did have flu like symptoms afterwards with bone aches. These bone aches lasted for about four months. Seemed to be mostly in the long bones and in some joints. It was tolerable but It's okay now. My recent BD has indicated an increase in the hip, but I have still lost mass in the spine.

I just had the treatment one week ago, I am aching everywhere as well as swollen feet and knees. I woke one morning not able to move my head, my neck was so stiff and painful. I am also very tired and find it difficult to get up in the morning. Did you have these symptoms straight after the treatment or many weeks after? this worries me as I am hoping these symptoms will go away soon.

I developed an inflammatory disease with no cure that effects my glands, joints and organs, i.e. burning sensation in body, dry eyes, drymouth and lips, itching ears and skin, joint pain and stiffness. Bowel problems. sleeplessness, sudden weight loss.  I lost kidney function and was told by Aclasta not to take anymore.  After one year I have been told that I have lost more bone density.
I am an 80 year old patient who followed the instructions carefully,  I have always enjoyed very good health and maintained a healthy weight. 

I have had Aclasta infusions twice now. On both occasions I experienced gastrointestinal symptoms but three weeks later. One time, it was very acute, right lower quadrant pain, and this year it has been cramps and diarrhea. First time, I felt unwell for about six weeks. I hope this time it doesn't last as long. I think this is a very rare side effect, and I do have G.I. issues to begin with that seem worse after the infusions. I doubt I'll get the Aclasta again... too much annoyance despite the good results. I never had the flu-like symptoms at all.

Apart from my few issues i hope this will help my condition and i trust my doctor i have had two infusions and i believe i need only one more i am 61 years of age and hope this is the case.  Feed back would be wonderful

A few weeks after treatment body ached everywhere like a flu i feel wieght gain
 and tiredness hard to get up in morning having had glandular fever at 17 the
feeling very similar.  Would love to hear if anyone else had similar symptons.

so wut have u decided to do concerning the injection.coz i've read the warning n i'm verrry worried esp that b4 the doctor prescribed me this inj,i've already taken too much analgesics n ths caused harm to my kidney function !!

frankly i expected the side effects to be worse!!  i am 46 year old female and i had the injection.  i just made sure to have the renal test before the injection and also prior to taking the injection had atleast a litre of water.  staying hydrated with water is important before going in for the injection i was told, so i did.  other than the "flu like symtoms" which i was prepared for, and now ofcourse the dry cough (which again i'm not sure whether it is from the injection), it wasn't too bad, really.  so if the injection can make my bones stronger (fingers crossed!!) and i have to only endure this once a year... if at all... cause i believe sometimes you may not even need it again, then, why the hell not!!  it is well worth it, in my humble opinion! ;)

about twelve hrs after having the injection i experienced body ache and chills and fever of 101 degrees F that lasted about 2 days. and since have had an itchy throat and dry cough and it has now been over a week since i had the injection. i also have lower back pain but not sure whether that is from the injection or because i've just been on my feet a lot lately.

my wife was offered a yearly injection treatment for osteoporosisafter the operation , due to her fracture of her hip.
i have downloaded this injection and i found ACLASTA from Novartis.
i am considering to have this injection for my wife, but unfortunately i read  a "medical warning" from a patient in singapore who got the Aclasta treatment, but caused a problem.
so that i need more information  about the side effect(s) or a prohibiting list to get Aclasta.

i have developed Lichen sclerosis,severe indigestion and burning internally ,nausea,sleeplessness,bleeding due to constipation,sore dry eyes,muscle cramps,and feeling very unwell..i have since asked for the treatment to be stopped ,and seem to losing a lot of the systems..

i too had really bad indigestion,nausea,fatigue,sleeplessness,burning up inside as if i had swallowed paint stripper,have come of the 3 monthly injection for 3 months and feel better ..irene of Liverpool

Too scared to have it after all the negatives I have read.

I would like to know about osteo necrosis as a side efect from having the annal injection in the vein and if a person been treated this way can not have any extraccion during the treatment, please if anyone have that information I would be very please to have it.

Elaine:  As someone living with a chronic illness that makes my whole system fragile like yours (CFS, MCS, OA) I would never take a drug that will effect my body for a whole year.  How do you stop the side effects if they are not manageable?  I suggest an osteo drug that you take daily so that you can monitor yourself carefully.  Susan

severe allergic eye inflammation , had to consult eye specialist ,was prescribed steroids - 30 mgs per day along with eye drops .

Dear friends,
I'm a 51 year old woman who has had an early menopause, at the age of 32. I'm at the beginning of osteoporosis and my doctor insists on me taking the annual infusion of Alcasta medicine.
I would be grateful to you if I could have an oppinion about the side effects of this medicine, I'm a young woman and I'm raising my child on my own , therefore I don't want to make any mistakes.
