Oh, Once you start taking Actonel, regiment yourself and never stop. timing is important. My bones are almost back to normal, and i was only given 7 to 10 years to live after receiving many times my life dose of radiation in a very short period of time. My bones looked like sponges and were porous. I have been reading some of what people say. Give it a chance to work for you. All the pains people are having I read about are blaming it on Actonel... Attitude is half the battle, and knowing your mind and body. If you keep thinking that Actonel is harming you and you stop taking it, then you might have some..........Your mind is very powerful and you have the implements within you to heal.

Hi, I Don't think I have Osteonecrois even though me jaw started hurting about 6 month's ago. I have been taking Actonel for 16 years now because. because of my Osteoporosis. I didn't have this infliction until I completed three trips to Chernobyl. A bone density test showed that I had lost a large portion of my bone density. The cause, I spent to much time in the Sarcophagus of Reactor # 4 , plus many other radiation exposures. I am pleased to say that my bone density has increased greatly, and I attribute that to taking Actonel every week like clockwork all this time.

I started getting a strange smell in my nose and strange taste in my mouth about 3 weeks after I started taking Actonel. I could not tolerate the once a month pill everytime I took it I experienced chills and nausea and was very weak and tired the next day. I`m now taking the once a week dose and still have the strange smell/taste problems. I tolerate it better than the monthly dose, but I`m really thinking about not taking it anymore I think these drugs are all toxic to the body and just make the drug companies rich!!!

I took Actonel for the first time, and I feel like I have been poisoned - severe muscle and joint pain, stomach ache, tingling under my skin - worse than the flu. I will never take Actonel again.

I have been on the monthly highest dose of Actonel for 3 months. I feel like I am chocking on everything I eat or drink, to the point of throwing up. Doctor wants me to change to intraveinous meds like Reclast or Forteo, but I'm not liking their side effects either Has anyone else had this problem with Actonel?

I have been taking Actonel for 6months now. and out of 3months my side effects have been flu, joint pain, i will not take this anymore .

I have taken 35 mg weekly for seven weeks.  4 times I have had excurciating headaches and jaw pain.  Why only part of the time?  Does diet the day before or anything else help to set off the headaches?

I haven't had any problem with Actonel which I have taken for one year.  Fosamex caused heart burn and acute gastiritis.

I am 39 years old and have been taking Actonel for seven months. My finders hurt so much in the night now I can hardly bend them. I have never had this before.

my 82 yr old father in good health took one pill and feels like he is dying excruciating joint and muscle pain difficulty swallowing loss of appetite headache weakness diahera you name it this drug is poison can not find a way to get out of system ban this drug

I took 150Mg at 4:30 AM and by 3:00 PM of the same day I was experiencing sever muscle aches all over. By 9:00 Pm i was barely able to walk. Sleeping was difficult because any way I layed I was in pain. The next morning the pain had subsided to some degree but Chest, back and knees were still in great pain. Third day I am still experiencing some pain in the knees and hands
An experience that i will not have again because I will not take it again. 

I'm a 58 year old female who took Actonel from 2002-2007. I lost my upper left molars and bone in 2007 and in 2010 my lower right molar and bone. November 2010 my left femur fractured. I wish I wouldn't have taken Actonel.

Yuck!  Two months of trial on once-monthly doses.  I was nauseated, had chills, ached in unusual places, had terrible diarrhea, experienced a horrible taste in my mouth.  I had no symptoms on once-weekly doses.  I may or may not go back to them ... this drug feels like poison in my body.

I took my first weekly dose of actenol at about 7:30 am with plenty of water and I walked around for about a half hour. I had a slight headache that day - nothing too serious. That evening at about 8 pm I developed excruciating muscle cramps in my right leg. After a few minutes, I fainted and fell onto the floor. Luckily, my husband was there and he helped me lay down.I came to in about 30 seconds. He said there was no seizure-like activity (he's a research scientist for Lilly). After coming to, the pain subsided but I had bitten my inner lip and scaped my back (which is now bruised). This is an unusual side effect but I would advise anyone taking this medicine for the first time to be with someone for the first 24 hours. Needless to say, my first dose was my last.

I just started taking it and since I started I've had very bad stomach pains.  I think I will quit taking this!  Always side effects with man made medicines!

hiver 99%of body and sever joints pain to ER visit. flu symptoms aches, dry eyes floater sever vision problems to two dozen tests and dr's visits. Imsomnia is so esver ER visit, heart burn so bad end up ER visit. gum is tender and aches, itch skin, hair fall out so much everyday, unbalance dizziness, fast heart beat, ears ringing, fainting feeel, anxioty, nouseate, so many unexplain symptoms comes and gos .

After about one month on the monthly dosage of Actonel I experienced jaw pain, muscle and joint pain and visual disturbances.  Doctor wants to put me on Boniva.  I've already tried Fosomax which caused me to have difficulty swallowing.  I have come to the realization I may not be able to tolerate any of these type drugs.  I am 58 yr old female on the verge of having full blown osteoporosis.

Leukocytosis after taking Actonel. I have Lab test which proof it.
What can i do to have a normal test. I stopped taking it since 3 months now.
But test is still positiv, WBC 20.0
I need help.

Chest pain, accelerate heart beats, body ache

I was put on Fosamax first for about 6 months then my doctor changed the medication to Actonel which I took for a further 10 months but by then Ifelt
dreadful with pains everywhere especially back and hips .I decided to take myself off ,that was 2 months ago and am feeling abit better, I can now bend
down easier,I shall NEVER take that medicine again

I have multiple myaloma am taking actonel once a week 30mg while away for 3 months in lieu of the once a month pemidranate bone treatment recommended by my oncologist in Canada and I do experience jaw pain and chronic joint and back pain and in addition to that I am experincing itching over the chest and upper leg area. Is itching a possible side effect? Is there anything I could take to alleviate the joint pain and itching.

do you have knowledge of pancreatic cancer as a result of actonel effects?

Has there been a link between 150mg monthly Actonel and heart arrhythmias?
