  • It sounds like the steroids…

It sounds like the steroids are the thing your wife is having side-effects from & sometimes a natural adrenaline rush, or a few of them, can aid in her getting back from the steroid adverse effects. It seems to me the fatigue from the steroids is experienced by many more people than the medical community would care to admit.

It also seems that doing something out of the ordinary & that will naturally get her in a hyper-focused mode will help pull her out of it, at least that's been my experience. Go for a shark dive, a roller-coaster, a sky dive & often times you can get the hormone imbalances to reset themselves.

I'm in that "steroid hell" now & as soon as I'm able, I'm going to find a positive way to get a positive adrenaline rush of my choosing, & I know it's worked before, so hoping it will get my hormones reset again (doctors don't even have tests for or know a ton about steroids, only that they mimic cortisol & throw off other hormones.)

Time for a "reset!", a semi- "fight or flight" that she chooses to put herself into & see if that doesn't help... it could even be a rock climb... Something to get the blood pumping that takes focus.

Corticosteroids can give you a manic episode, even if you've never had one before... Tell the doctors NO MORE STEROIDS & hopefully she'll be able to ride this out & reset her hormones...

Corticosteroids need to be FAR more regulated, as they are used with little regard to the long-term effects.

  • My wife has a severe iodine…

My wife has a severe iodine (sea food) allergy. She recently had a reaction. She was given adrenaline twice plus steroids (predinisone in IV form), antihistamines, and ranitidine (to counteract the side effects of adrenaline. The initial reaction was 48 hrs ago. She is home but continues to suffer from fatigue, tight chest (cant inhale deeply) and when she does inhale deeply it feels as if she has an irregular heartbeat. So, here is the question. Is this all a reaction to the allergen and the adrenaline? What are the side effects of adrenaline? How long after she has the adrenaline can she still experience side effects?
