Amitriptyline

After having been on elavil for 9 years, mostly at 100mg/night, I spent the last 6 months weaning off. Shortly after stopping amitriptyline I now have high blood pressure. Before stopping, and for years before starting, my usual pressure was 115/65, now have 150/68. Can this be a withdrawal symptom or has the drug been masking a heart problem all this time or did it cause damage that did not show up before stopping the drug?

can amitriptyline can cause thrombocytopenia ?

For the past 18 mnths my fifteen year old takes Pizotifen for migraine. Even on low dose it has virtually seen off the migraine episodes and apart from initial tiredness for the first few weeks on it, we are not aware of any major side effects.  Amitryptyline was another option for him. I have taken low dose Amitriptyline for past 9 mnths for tension headache.  It has appalling side effects for me which have never really subsided from the beginning. I would not think my 15 year old could function if he feels the way I do and I couldn't watch him endure these effects.I hope the parent of the 14 year old with headaches/dizziness finds something that can help him. My 14-year old started amytriptyline 5 days ago because of continuous headaches and some dizziness. Since on amytriptyline has had quite a bit of dizziness and extremely sluggish (very difficult for him to get up and to go to school). Presently very difficult for him to function because of dizziness and slugginess - headache still there but not the reason for him being non-functional.

Two weeks on Amitriptyline 25mg at night in addition to 60mgs of Cymbalta am. Last few days feeling kinda off. Today kinda short of breath, real fuzzy headed feeling and delayed feeling. Is that a normal reaction? Gonna stop Amitriptyline asap

my mouth is dry all the time !1 i drink gallons of water !1 have u put on weigh taken it ??

i have been taken 2 25mg at night for 6 months my mouth is dry all the time i carry water with me everywhere , i have a bloted tummy all the time ! but i die as soon as my head touches the pillow !!i feel fat all the time !!

I,ve taken amitriptyline for many years, but suffer awful dry mouth. Theyr`e to treat migrane and anxiety, but my doctor says, do I want to come off them to cure the dry mouth. Has anyone else had this problem? 

ive taken zoplicone for sleep aid but its addictive so ive gone over to amitrptyline which is none addictive and it works great try uping the dose for sleep aid

doc gave me 25mg to help me sleep after quitting the weed. not as good as zoplicone though

been on amitrip 25mg at night for 8 nights now and have felt and look alot better. although i have diarrihea now and felt abit  of nausea here and there . feel  a tad tired throughout the day but i think for me the postives outweigh the negatives for now

Hey i took 500mg of amitriptyline and overdosed and almost Died.. Dont take that much

I'm taking Amitriptyline to relax my jaw and for pain and it seem to help tinnitus sonmetimes. Should I be taking noratfiptyline?

Does Amtriptyline help tinnitus. I'm taking it at a low dose for jaw problems and fibromyalgia. the 25 mg dose seems to make my tinnitus worse but my pain better. I don't know what to do?

took amitriptyline 200mg in a signle dose is it safe
