Arimidex

Most likely, it is the arimedex causing it. I am left handed and I find it effects that hand the most

I don't know if the cause is arimedex, but my finger joints and thumb joint and wrists have recently become so painful. It wakes me up at night like now and I can't seem to open jars without pain. I have been on arimedex for about four months. Hands and wrist have been escating with pain.

secondly, I had a flu shot today and stupidly the pharmacist injected it into my left arm, the side of the mastectomy...I'm just a messand scared.

I've been on Arimidex for one month. I've been experiencing weight gain, migraines, joint pain and anxiety. But I just experienced a new side effect: all of a sudden my gums started bleeding to the extent that I woke up with blood clots in my mouth. I have very healthy teeth and gums, so I know it's not gum disease. Is it possible this is from Arimidex??

I've noticed that I am very vulnerable to even the slightest trauma to my joints. I feel as if the drug has aged me (I'm 59) to the equivilent of a person of 75, and all of the conditions I might experience at that age are hitting me now. There is no doubt about it, this drug ages you. The best thing I did was get any extra weight off, so it's less stress on the joints. I've noticed a big difference in the aches and pains since dropping the weight.

My worst symptoms were in the first year, and they have declined over the 3 years...hopefully that will be some encouragement.

carpel tunnel surgery was needed. Constipation and heartburn. I've been on arimidex for 3 years.

I have been taking Arimidex for 2 months and my skin feels itchy all over. Hot flashes,UTI, and abdominal pain

my eyesight just kept getting worse. After 10 months of being on arinidex I went for an eye exam and they could not do the drops because of my acute angles in my eyes.I now have to go to a specialist, they are pretty sure it is glaucoma. I also get the "normal" hot flashes, brain fog, cold, bone pain and lower back pain. I really don't think it is worth taking. I am going to ask my doctor if I can stop, it's not worth losing my eyesight over...

nausea and vomiting

I just started taking glucosamine chrondroitin to see if that would help me and get of NSAIDS,  I have been on Arimidix for 1 1/2 years, and its really catching up with me.  I have also had a knee replacement, and EVERY JOINT  hurts me...any ideas from anyone would be appreciated!  my Dr. told me to be active, I try to get in the pool and move around about 2 or 3 times a week....sometimes that helps...Hang in there Ladies!!!

    Is anyone out there taking glucosamine chrondroitin to relieve the arthitis?  I am hoping that the glucosamine chrondroitin will help.

  My body feels like it is stinging.  I am also stiff and I have pain in my joints.

I started Arimidex just 2 months ago, and previously had both knees replaced. My knees were great, but suddenly my left knee became really painful, hard to walk. I wonder if this has something to do with the medicine?

I am taking Arimidex its been 3 weeks.  I had right mastectomy last year.  Now  i have pain in my left breast.  

HI, I'm now 63:  I was 53 Years Old in DEC. 2000 & was still having MONTHLY PERIODS when I was Diagnosed with DCIS in my Left Breast, had Lumpectomy, Sentinel Node Biopsy w/Margins, 36 Radiation Trtmts. and tried TAXMOXIFEN; but couldn't TOLERATE the way it made my EYES feel so Stopped after 30 days.  Instead, I went on ARIMIDEX (even though I was NOT Post-Menopausal) for approx. six (6) weeks to 2 months causing my PERIODS to STOP; but caused EDEMA in my Feet and Legs so stopped afterwards.  I have been CANCER FREE for (10) Years w/o any Recurrence.  My DAD lived to be 100; MOTHER: 89; SISTER: 66 (Heart DAMAGED by HIGH FEVER from Streptococcus Virus when she was 5.)

Severe bone pain and swelling. So much so that I was told that the cancer had spread to my spine, ribs and clavical. A biopsy has shown that it is not cancer but inflamation and swelling. I had been on arimidex for about 6 months following a lumpectomy and radiation for DCIS. I also suffered a compression fracture in my spine. The pain was awful. Now that I have been off for about   3+ months I have been getting better everyday and the although still present is deminishing.

I was er positive and her2 positive in 08 went through menapause ---hot flash galore. Last week the hot flashes ended abruptly. Yipppeeee!! I got my period back last night

While taking Arimidex for breast cancer, has anyone developed rosacea?

I am writing for my mom. She is 80 years old and is taking Arimidex after a brief bout of breast cancer last year. She's been taking the Arimidex for about a year.

She is having terrible stomach cramps -from her belly button all the way down is how she describes it. It is worse at night. She either has diarrhea or constipation since she started on it. She is really uncomfortable. Tom'w morning she is going in for what he hope is minor surgery to remove an ovarian cyst.

She is also on medformin for her diabetes, which she has controlled mostly by diet until the last couple of years. She takes many vitamins and supplements also, although she has cut out some of them as she believed they may interact with her meds in a negative way.

Any advice/help/information you can forward would be most appreciated. Thanks for your time and prompt attention to my letter.

I have been taking Arimidex for 3 1/2 years ... with some issues, but none unbearable.
In January I had a seizure and it was thought to be a random one-time episode.
Three weeks ago, I had another seizure and have now been told I need to be on
seizure medication. CAT scans, and EEGs show no disturbances ... I feel like
Arimidex must have some involvement? I'm 57 and have never had ANY serizure
issues. Has anyone had any fainting, or seizure like problems?

how important is arimidex to keeping cancer cells at bay...i am getting overweight, knee pain in left knee, extreme heart burn (i also have anyeursm in chest), nausea, laziness, hard to catch my breath upon mild exertion :)

I had stage 2 hormone induced breast cancer. I have been taking arimidex for16 months now and nothing helps the pain. My hands stiffen if I sit to watch a tv program. Upon awakening in the morning I am unable to open or close my hands. it takes alot of rubbing and working my hands to even be able to grip my pillow or linens. Joint and bone pain is 8 most of the time on a 1-10 scale. Sweating, hot flashes, restless legs and weight gain add to the misery. My Dr said most of the discomfort will get better with time but only seems to get worse.
I feel really handicapped.
I love being alive, but like you, a break from the pain would be a blessing.

I've been taking arimidex for 13 months after dose dense chemo and radiation for stage 2b lobular breast cancer. I ache all over. I have pain in my joints and muscles all the time. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Life is great and I love still being her, but I'd sure like a break from Pain.
