  • Lumpectomy for breast cancer…

Lumpectomy for breast cancer Sept. 2010. followed by radiation. Started Aromasin in April and stopped after 4 months. Had pains in all joints; hands, feet, hips, shoulders and knees. Soles of feet were painful. Fingernails stopped growing. Loss of feeling in both hands during sleep. Walking was painful especially up and down stairs. Hands and feet swollen constantly. Also started to feel depressed but that could have been because I was so frustrated about all the problems with my body. Started Tamoxifin yesterday. My onc. believes Aromasin shows better results but the side affects aren't worth it in my case.

  • I was diagnosed with breast…

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. Tx was radiation then aromasin. Approx 1 to 2 years into treatment my whole body was covered in a rash. It did not itch and became worse in warm baths and in the sun. Bx was done and was consistent with drug reaction. I was taken off aromasin and place on tamofen. A recent bx in now stating the rash is consistent with subacute cutaneous lupus.

  • I was diagnosed with breast…

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. I had a lympectomy done in 2007, followed with checmo and radiation. After all this treatment for one year, I started taking Aridemex for 2-1/2 months only. I had a really bad problem with joint, muscle and unable to eat. Change me to Aridemex stayed on for 2 1/2 years. My body started having alot of allergy problem, itch, rash, and skin problems.  Now changed me to Femara, so far so good, all those rash, itch and skin problem stopped and allergy when I stopped taking Aridemex

I then took myself off my medication while i awaited blood test results from my doctor and as a mix up happened i was off my medication for six weeks, in the first three weeks i felt increasingly energetic and great in myself the best i felt since well before i was diagonised  with breast cancer i 2007 and had chemo and a mastectomy, then after three weeks i started to get really bad headaches again which i got before i was diagonised, i then was put back on exemestane in july and my symptoms have got worse, i now have bone ache all over my body ,wrists elbows ankles knees fingers are all stiff, my grip is gone i feel low a lot of the time, i lack energy, i feel anxious, and by the way i have always kept fit and walked a lot and went to the gym ,I am only just turned fifty and feel about eighty. help me !

  • I started using Aromasin…

I started using Aromasin 2 years ago due to muscle pain using  Aromidex,  The pain subsided within days.  Aromasin was showing less pain in 30% of patients and  I appered to be one of them. I was not pain free for long. Withi months  the pain returned along with soft tissue damage.
The pain in my feet has my changed my activity level . I no longer can go for walks, or long shoping trips and vacation activities are planned around my needs instead of my families. Te damage to my knee  requires surgery .
I have plulled,  or torn more soft tissue than I can count. Its time to consult my Dr. and and decide if it is worth being on the drug.

  • Discontinued after one month…

Discontinued after one month due to elevated liver blood test results- CT scan showed no visible liver tumors.  All previous blood test results had been normal.  Comprehensive metabolic panel showed alkaline phosphatase 165 (expected range 38-126), aspartate transaminase (AST) 240 (expected range 11-47) and alanine transaminase (ALT) 439 (expected range 7-53.)  Additional blood tests ruled out hepatitis, etc. as cause.

Also began to experience knee and ankle pain and peripheral edema 2 days before discontinuing aromasin; edema worsened then resolved 2 days after discontinuation.  Joint pain also worsened, but has beguin to decrease one wek after discontinuation of aromasin.
