  •  I have been taking…

I have been taking Atenolol for the past five years and still experience side effects such as unsteady gait, cold hands and feet, occasional chest pain, dizziness, and headaches.  I work as a PCA on the third shift, so I have to take this medication as soon as I get into bed to avoid dizziness.  It is a wonderful drug; although, caution should be used if your job requires steady walking and bending.

  • BEST medicine for my HPP.…

BEST medicine for my HPP.  Before i was taking metoprolol 100mg and i was getting bloody noses headaches .  Then i went to Mexico and a doctor said to take this medicine AND the most important a special HP pressure water pill.  It has a zide at the end of the long name and at 53 i have 120/80 and i feel wonderful being regulated.  I was STAGE 4 before and did not know how bad that was to be in.  I take my BP so serious with daily checks, 2 miles walk every day, watch sugars and salt and i feel better not than i did 10 years ago.

  • My mother who is 94 years…

My mother who is 94 years old takes Atenol, one small tablet a day for high blood pressure.  She also takes one calcium and vitamin D tablet, and one co-proximol at night.  She says the atenol causes her to have hallucinations.  She has told her doctor and he says it is important she continues to take the atenol so that she doesn't have a stroke, and there is no other tablet she could take instead of atenol.  She says she doesn't believe there is nothing else she could take.  The hallucinations bother her.  However she continues the medication as directed by her doctor.  She also has difficulty having a good nights sleep,. and wakes in the early hours of the morning and has difficulty getting to sleep again, but that may be nothing to do with atenol, which she takes in the morning.
