Baclofen

I too had a nasty bite from baclofen.I had a craving for alcohol and was on 10 mg TID.I took 90mg at once. within one hour I feel like i was on shrooms! Very vivid CEVs(closed eyed visuals) and some ope eyed visuals(OEVs).Actually I enjoyed this.But there was moments of short anxiety.It was over in 6 hours maybe 8.I feel baclofen has abuse potentials is some people and should be scheduled.It has a wide range of side effect and can be addictive. Kids use it for tripping or sedation.Baclofen is related to GHB and Phenethylamies(eg.Mecaline,2c-type drugs).Very dangerous in excess esp when starting it and for some withwardwal effects too. Be careful with it.Not suitable for alchoholics with history of Hallucinogen ause-like me. Im off this med now.

I had a devastating experience with this drug. I had been using Flexeril for back and neck pain but found it no longer as effective. I asked my doctor if there was something stronger. He prescribed Baclofen. Having not read the label carefully, my problems began immediately. Day one, a deep sleep that I could not be aroused from. Day 2, total confusion and terrible hallucinations, severe disorientation. By day 3, I was so out of it, I was not sure where I was, who I was or if my family around were real or not. By the morning of the 4th day, I was taken by ambulance to the local ER and later admitted to the hospital. The first night was total hell. The distortion and multiple hallucinaitons kept me completely out of reality. Next day a little improvement in the mornings but afternoon, evenings were hell again. Panic attacks were massive. My skin crawled, burned; my sense of temperatures were gone. Could not eat for days. This all started 8/11/11 and it is now 8/16/11 and I have spent a fair day. But evenings still bring up panic. I will be seeking psychological help in this issue. If you or anyone is perscirbed this medication, be VERY cautious. I only used it 3 days to be sent completely out of mind!

my mom 77 years old suddenly becomes weak since she started taking baclofen..she's having a difficulty in walking and maintaning her balance..that wasnt her condition before..

Husbnd is a 15 yr. stroke survivor who had a baclofen pump since about 2001.   It was replaced Nov. 2009 and nothing but trouble... passing out, weakness, falling, etc.   4 ER trips and not one dr. ever mentioned baclofen side effect.   Pump was removed Jan. 2010 and then he went into withdrawal.. another ER trip w/symptoms like a stroke.  Baclofen dissolved the enamel on his teeth and had to have all of them pulled & dentures, a very expensive experience.   With the help of VA neurologist we're getting him off baclofen.. using Young Living RutaVaLa to conttol the spasms and have him down to less than 5 mg. oral per day.  Baclofen is a very dangerous medication!

Just was looking around and saw your post.  We experienced a very similar situation with our child.  Was the pump just installed?

my son was overdosed on baclofen, they doubled his does and then took him back down to a lower dose all in a  day and a half. he started taking 5 breaths a minute, and the doctor said it was not the pump. duh i am no rocket scientest, but it was the pump. they gave him another brain injury.

Male 42 prescribed baclofen 30-60mg daily for the control of cervical dystonia, great for first week then started to get pain and discumfort in my bowels by week two i was being physicaly sick and unable to control the pain , had to stop taking the medication, side effects started to ease after three- four days. current medications: propranolol, fluoxetine, lansoprazole, clonazepam, alvirine citrate.
