Benazepril

My doctor prescribed benzepril to "help protect" my kidneys due to diabetes. However, from the first day I started taking this dreadful medicine I became so sick to my stomach that I could not eat and any food eaten made it worse. A month later, I've lost 20 lbs due to horrible daily nausea and have decided to discontinue using these pills. I have also broken out in an itchy rash  that didn't occur until I'd started the pills.
My doctor did not tell me about these problems.

My mother is on Benazepril and Amlodipine, she just had her dose re-uped, she is complaining of, Burning shoulders (muscles) and shortness of breath,and her heart races. But this only last for a few minutes. She also thinks she might have a over active thyroid from this medication, because she has lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks. She is only 56 years old. I why just wondering how long it took to work???

·         I am on Benazepril and last night I was having sharp stomach pains, nausea, and vomiting. Now I am having coughing spells and bad pains on either upper sides of my abdomen. What do think? Help!!!
