Cefixime

i m shafaq and having 5 month pregnancy ..during this i had thypoid and doctor advices me to take maximum 10 capsule oof cefspan 400 after 6th injection course...what will be effect on my pregnancy plz email me at shafaq_siddiqui@hotmail.com

I took a 400mg dose of cefixime for uncomplicated gonorrhea. This medication has almost ruined my life. After 5 days I experiemced severe abdominal cramping, then the diarrhea began. Along with the diarrhea I had the worst yeast infection of my life. It has been 23 days since i ingested the medication and I am still experiencing diarrhea every day, nausea and my abdomen is so bloated I look 6 mos pregnant. If I had known the side effects would be this bad, I would rather have lived with the gonorrhea. I also have a loss of taste, food does not taste right at all. I went to the Dr, I was concerned I had developed c. difficile, but the Dr says the mediacation simply wiped out my entire digestive tract. This is the most horrible medication, I have read posts from parents that they have had this antibiotoc prescribed for their child... I cannot imagine how it has effected those kids. I am so miserable, the little ones must feel 10X worse. Cefixime should be used only as a last resort.
