Ceftin

I have had a hx of severe sinus infections. I've had 7 sinus surgeries and have been told that my sinuses are "diseased". This latest bout is very fierce and has been determined to be a seconday infection due to a severe allergic reaction to a cat that was in my home for over 48 hours. Prior to this bout my sinus infections have been infrequent since my last surgery 5 yrs ago. I'm on the Ceftin 500mg 2xday for 14 days. It's now day 5 and I'm not feeling much better. I did, however, feel well enough on day 3 to go to church, although I was very tired when I returned and "vegged" out the rest of the day.
It seems the symptoms I'm having are the same as I've had prior to seeking med help. Severe congestion, sinus pain, sore throat, bulging/itching/painful ears and fatigue. The only new symptoms are sore tongue, headache (different from sinus h/a), achiness and low grade fever. When can I expect to feel better? Should I hang in there and ignore the new symptoms? This bout has seemed to make me feel more "sick" than previous.

Approx. about 7 days after completing my prescription of ceftin for a ear/sinus infection i got a itchy rash under my arm and around my buttocks and lower back.

I am a 33 year old female weighing 150 lbs. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and prescribed Ceftin. An hour and a half after taking my first dose I experienced extreme jitters then my muscles went into spasms similar to what I experienced during labor. I couldn't move and began shaking all over. The muscle spasms occurred very frequently during the day and eventually spread to my stomach, chest, back, neck, arms, shoulders and facial muscles over the course of 4 days (still no relief since the meds are still in my system). The facial muscles were the weirdest. My face would scrunch up intensely squeezing my eyes closed, furrowing my brow and wrinkling my nose, release, then start all over again a couple dozen times. The doctor thought this was a Jarisch Hertzheimer Reaction which is common with patients who treat Lyme with antibiotics. The condition usually lasts 2 days, so when I went into my 4th day, I called back and he was alarmed and told me to stop the Ceftin immediately.
