Coversyl

I've been taking coversyl for about 10 years, I switched from 4 mg to 2.5 in the middle for about 3 years. I've been suffering from diziness included light headed and doctors described it as Meniere syndrome but I noticed when I was using the 2.5mg dose and taking it in the afternoon at home rather before going to work in the morning that the diziness has decreased but over the past few months, since May 2011 my hypertension has increased that the doctor advised to go back to original dose of 5 mg. The BP was still high and the diziness episodes returned to me since then. Recently the doctor has added Natirlix on every other day dose and my BP has improved but I still have diziness and blured vision with light headed.

Onset of arrythmias, starting when I was prescribed 2mg for mild hypertension. I had to be hospitalised folloowing a severe arrythmia attack which saw me in hospital for 3 hours and on oxygen The condition sel;fcorrected and I was discharged. When the dosage was increased to 4mg, arrythmia frequency and intensity increased until it was occurring 2-3 times daily, and lasting for hours. This interfered significantly with my exercise and work (Police Officer). I ran out of Coversyl and couldn't make itto the doctors for a prescription refill, the arrythmias have all but disappeared. My blood pressure is 130-140/80 without any medication. I won't be going back on Coversyl, it affected me adversely for 3 years!

Aged 53, troubled by high blood pressure for 3 years. Felt awful, very low pulse, felt weak and extremely tired. It lowers my blood pressure, but I feel worse from the side effects. The side effects of verapamil were much worse though. I just wish my blood pressure would be normal so I didn't have to take these drugs that make me feel so terrible.

Had been taking coversyl 10mg for a couple of years Had flu like symptoms for last 3 months with dry cough, then got chest pain/shortness of breath. Hospitalised pneumonia in both lungs, a PE and the pain was from pleurisy. Stopped coversyl after seeing internet side affects. Flu/cough went within days on warfarin for 6 months to reduce PE. Saw something about the ingrediants being different?

male, age 69, taking coversyl for over 1 year. Had a bad cold and cough Aug 2010. Cold went away but dry persistent cough continues. Also have had a few occasions, 6-8, where I was dizzy for a few seconds at a time. Not sure if coversyl is affecting my dizziness.

Had a pancreas (pancreatitis) attack a year ago which was a week in hospital after being prescribed coversyl plus.

Now I have been diagnosed as diabetic.

hi i m taking coversyl 2mg daily since last 1 year , since i havent any side effect noticed . :)

very itchy throat at night and hot flushes!!

I am 74 years old and have HBP and have been taking coversyl PLUS HD for 7 or 8 months and have been experiencing heart burn really bad when ever I do any physical work and legs cramping to the point and not being able to move for several minutes until they go away, this has got worse over the past three months. :(

Recently diagnosed with Mitral Valve prolapse, my GP put me on 5mg of Coversyl, I was referred to a Cardiologist who inceased my doubled my dosage. After being on Coversyl for 4 months, I began to develop a cough thatstarted as an irrating cough then grew to become very distressing. I have now been changed to Atacand and am experiencing light headedness...Where too from here?

I'm a male, age 70 with high blood pressure, i've been on nrvasc 5mg for 5 years,and was not doing mouch for me; so i was put on 10mg norvask, and it was helping me, but it made feel a cloudy head at all times. so i asked my doctor to try something else. six months ago i was prescribed Cversil+ 5mg, it got my B/P arrund 135over70 or 80 without any side effects, and i'm quite happy with it.

Recently given higher dose of Coversuyl as I was taken off lower dose due to coming off another medication (Natrilix). Since then I have experienced extreme cramps, stomach aches and itshing. Not amusing!. Am going back to the GP asap and want OFF this diabolical medication.

I just today started taking coversyl and i am going to gym at least 3days in a week. Hope it works well for me......

Ihave been taking coversyl for i yr and was feeling exhausted and unable to walk far etc I have stopped taking it and feel much better and I am monitoring my bp at home with bp machine and doing relaxation techniques.

Two hours after taking one tablet (10 mg) extreme dizziness, palpitations - pulse 130 bpm.  Unable to drive to work - felt "weird" all day until effects wore off later that night.

Hello I am just new to this medicine, my doctor prescribed this just today, from Labetalol. So please help me if this is the best medicine to cure my blood pressure. I am just 37 yrs. Old just had a baby 3 month's ago. My BP playing since then so with your advice it's really help me and the other's alot. Thank you

I was taking Atenolol and Coversyl which caused an old scar to flare up..when my doctor increased my medication, I ended up having dizzy spells like vertigo which put me in the hospital for almost a day..while in there, he prescribed a calcium channel blocker by the name of Felodipine which then caused me a terrible rash called a vasadilator roschea..that was extremely unnerving. I went off the that drug. I went cold turkey for two days and the rash almost disappeared..went back on the meds and the rash broke out again..so again I went to the doctor and asked him to take me off everything..I was off all drugs for 5 days taking only 2 Coversyl.. now because he wanted me on the Coversyl again, the rash has broken out again.. I also have bleeding hemorrohoids every day..I wonder if this is from the meds I've been on..

After taking 1 4mg. pill, never had I been so sick to my stomach in my life. Needless to say there will not be a second one. Nothing felt right all.  

I only took one tablet and within 2hrs my throat had started to constrict.After 5 hrs the left side of my face and lips had swollen so much that I  had trouble speaking.

I started out with 4mg and then the Doctor increased my dose to 8mg. I hardly sleep and got a constant ringing in my left ear. I also now have heart palpitations (racing heart) and I don't like that feeling at all. Looks like on my next appt. I will try a different blood pressure medication.

I got up one morning and found that my right cheeck has swollen considerably. This is after taking coversyl 10 mg for more than 5 years. I have stopped the medication now and trying out Altacand

I have high blood pressure and my doctor put me on Coversyl for 10 days then he said he will check my blood pressure then and put me on pills. But I take the one pill in the morning and i feel so tried all day dry throat and coughing lots. this pill made me so tried all day. What is worry with me? I have not felt this way before is it the pills.

l took 4mg a day for10 weeks,was told to loose wt,exercize,eat less salt,,,,no improvement,. l changed my diet,lost no wt,kept taking covercyl,and in a month was almost normal,only poss serios side affect mite be heart palpatations i cant xplain.the drug didn t help at all,because it didn t address the cause.lt made me off balance.

I have been taking Coversyl for approximate 14 months. Within months of starting the prescription, I noticed that I had significantly less ambition and experiencing a difficult time motivating myself at work and in my personal life. I had also noted a period of significantly heightened sexual desire (for approx 2 months), however that was followed by just the opposite, a pronounced and sustained loss of sexual desire. I had reported these concerns to my doctor, however he did not believe the symptoms were directly related to the Coversyl prescription. I am about to return to my doctor and request a change in the prescription as I too, have been overcome by sense of desolation and am devoid of feeling. In fact I do not recall the last time I actually felt engaged, excited, happy, sad, etc..
My BP is however under control.

I'm also on coversyl and uremide, for the last 12months. Feel exactly like your brother-in- law. Remote from everyone and no energy. Was alright before. Don't seem to feel anything anymore. Was looking at side-affects of coversyl. Think it's this but want's the alternative?

my brother in law is taking coversyl 10mg and a separate fluid tablet has been for 12 months. Our concern is that his behavior has become quiet negative and very unsocial. We fear that he may be suffering with depression but I am wondering if there is a link with coversyl or it may well be a separate issue. Any thoughts or similar experiences out there?
