Crestor

I have had a cough which I think could be related to Crestor! also leg cramps,generally feeling tired,I have been taking Crestor for 1 year now I am 69

I am 69 years old. I have high cholesterol which is unaffected by diet. I started with Lipitor and have been on Crestor for about 15 years. I had no adverse side effects at the beginning. In the past year my doctor put me on 60 mg a day. This scares me and my druggist. I have been noticing some changes in my body. There has been a curious numb feeling in my feet. This has spread to my ankles and lower legs as well. It is not painful but uncomfortable and limits confidence in walking. Also I have pain in my thigh muscles, lower back and in the last six months, I have muscle pain, more like a sever tightening, around my rib cage. My urine is clear. My blood pressure is always normal as well as my other stats. Are these effects of Crestor or do I look elsewhere?

I have suspected Crestor may be the cause of back and leg pain and possibly effects my abdominal system. I had back surgery over two years ago and am pursuing that avenue for possible causes. I have faithfully been in aqua therapy twice a week for two years, and suddenly began to feel as if things were going wrong again. However, the pain this time is more like muscle pain and joint pain in my hips. If it is windy or cold I am worse, practically hunched over and can't walk. Is it arthritis? All this is confusing and depressing.

I have been on 10mg for a couple of years now. My cholesterol is way down and I have had zero problems with Crestor. As with all drugs, earch person experience differnet reactions.

i took crestor 10 mg only 10 days, i developped swelling and joint pains with blood inflammation, the symptoms decrease when i take steroids but relapse when the steroids are stopped. I still have swelling and joint pains, when do i heal from this definitively? some one experiences the same troubles?

severe adominal pain

I have been taking Crstor for approx. 2 month. Since Monday July 25 I have been sick as dog I have most of the symptons listed above. How do I get better? Is there someting I can take to make feel better? I was just dianosed yesterday afternoon. I am still wondering is it really is from Crestor. The only other time I have been this sick is when I had A kidney infection. How is a kidney infection different?

My veins blew in my arms and back of legs. Huge bruises but it keeps my cholesteral down

extreme anxiety and depression also fatigue after taking 20 mg for over a Month.

My shoulder feels like it is going to explode. I have lost strength in my arm and it is almost impossible to pick up my arm when I raise it out to the side. My triceps is in constant pain, my humorous bone hurts constantly, and the back of my thigh has this constant nagging pain in it. My left knee is weak and pops out when I sit down on them, my left elbow joint hurts from time to time, I have memory lose and I am constantly trying to remember things. I was on 20 mg but I have been cutting my pills in half hoping to stop all the pain but that doesn't seem to work.
I am calling my doctor asap and getting off this drug. I have been fighting with statins for 15 years or more and I can't take them anymore!

I took crestor 40mg for almost a year and now I have cardiomyopothy and suffer from muscle pain in both legs also in my ankles with muscle weakness in both legs and it is sometimes hard for me to walk.

Anxiety, headache over eyes, affecting vision, fatigue.

i have sevrve leg and toe cramps from crestor on meds for 6mths *DONT_KNOW*

Experienced fatique, sleeping problems and most of all stomach bloating. Also take fish oil. Help!

I was taking 5 mg Crestor every day. Saw on TV of side effects so stopped. Too late apparently. Have irregular heart beat, chest hurts, fatigue. Since stopping the irrigular beats aave lessened but heart still hurts. Trouble breathing. Does anyone know, will this be permanent? :'(

would you please add Lipitor/atorvastatin to the list. It is a statin, as is crestor. thanks

I started taking crestor last year - at age 38. my last week trip to my optometrist revealed that I'm suffering from cataract!! I did the research - apparently one of crestor's side effects is the development of cataract.

i am taking crestor, antabuse and campral.  what are the possible side effects

I too have had burning tongue and have wondered if it is due to Crestor. Does anyone have any experience with a burning tongue associated with Crestor? If so, how long did it take for the symptom to resolve once Crestor was discontinued?

Hi, just over one year ago I was diagnosed with high cholestrol and very high LDL and was put on 10mg dosage, I suffered muscle aching in thighs and since it had corrected my LDL (which my doc told me was hereditry and wouldn't be controlled by diet ) I then asked him to try me on 5mg which later indicated normal cholestrol, so I took one tablet once a week (5mg) for 3 months telling my doc that I was taking 5mg every second day, my blood test results came back completely normal and I then told him the truth. He went into denial and wouldn't listen to me. Now I don't understand? I was under a huge ammount of stress when he first detected high cholestrol, now I'm happy- can stress push up cholestrol levels? I'm 49 and female, no family history of high cholestrol.

I thought I was losing my mind on statins  for years, Dr will NEVER admit it's the pills, I had daily nausea, dizziness, anxiety, depression, muscle pain and weakness, heart palps, cognitive problems........every time I quit statins for awhile,
symptoms would slowly subside,then I let my doc talk me into going back on and trying a "new" one. My cholesterol skyrecketted even on low fat for years..hereditary.  Now I see many people here with the same issues, I know I'm  not the only one

ON CRESTOR FOR ONLY  DAYS GOT ITCHING JAUNDICE AND YELLOW URINE 

Dizziness, cognitive disfunction..'fuzziness' and inability to focus and recall important information, flu-like symptoms including body aches and 'malais'.

No interest and no energy.  Round the clock sleepiness and sleeping.

ive been on crestor for 7 months and have experienced weight loss.body fat is reduced greatly and bones are visible everywhere, getting to look like a skeleton,also minor chest pain at sternum occasionally.

after taking crestor for several months I experienced major hip, leg and foot pain.  I also seem to have experienced irritability and anxiety which I now can associate with crestor.  I have stopped taking it and now the pain is gone but I am dealing with the results of the personality change with my job.  I knew that something was wrong with how i was feeliing but even my therapist did not bring up my use of crestor. 

I am 53 and have been taking crestor 10 for about 3 years now, yes I have also have a similiar experience like lowered sex drive and swelling in the inner cheek walls and tongue. It started out in the left side and progressed to the right, I have burning sensation in my tongue 24/7 and developed tinitis. I am in the process of lowering my dosage until it altogether gone from my system. 

I have been taking cholesterol control medication for about 9 years. From Lipitor to Vytorin to Crestor 20 mg for about 6 years.During that time my sex drive went down a bit. I went to a urologist who recommended Viagra. I started taking it, then switched to Cialis. Now my sex drive is lower, had testosterone levels done and it is low. In my last blood test I also had high sugar levels.
I am wondering if all this time it was Crestor and the other statins that contributed to this.I been reading that it also may lead to Diabetes.
I am wondering if all this time all I have done has been damage to my body. And how serious and if its reversible. Any one out here with similar problem?

I have been taking Crestor for awhile now and have experienced muscle aches and pains especially at night when sleeping to thepoint where it wakes me up.  My doctor says its Arthritis pain but I wonder, do you get muscle pain with Arthritis.  I thopught it was just the joints that were affected.  I did stop taking Crestor for a couple months and finally went back on it because the pain subsided a little, but not that much. Lim so frustrated because I really don't know what I have.  Can anybody help/

After taking Crestor (40mg dosage) for about 3 days I developed a fever and could not sleep).  My doctor adviced that I give Crestor 2 weeks, after day 10 I broke out in a rash on my legs (red skin with small blisters) and my skin was hot to the touch.  Stopped taking medication.  My cholesterol level is only 195, I will take my chances with the cholesterol level. 

I've had a burning tongue ever since taking it. Was on 20mg/day. When I took a short vacation from crestor, this sensation went away. It came back soon after I resumed the medication. At first I thought I had thrush, since I'd recently come off a two week stint on antibiotics, but my dock doesn't see any evidence of that. when I looks at my tongue and mouth,they both look totally normal. The sensation becomes even more intense when exposed to extreme heat (for instance, the sauna). Also the left side of my mouth seems swollen, so much sometimes that it's hard for me to get certain words out. This also started at the same time when I started the crestor. I am otherwise healthy, so I attribute these sensations for the drug. I have a lot of anxiety/emotional issues, so my doc reflexively atttributes these symptoms to that. Anyone else experience these?

severe dizziness with just 5 mg

I have been taking crestor for about four years for highly elevated hdl. First 20mg now 10mg and am increasingly concerned that increased lethergy, cognitive impairment - short term memory loss and aphasia as well as chronic muscle ache may be a result of crestor use. I am 52 years old, work in my own business which is very pyhsically demanding, slightly overwieght at 100kg/190cm, non smoker and fairly regular low fat diet.Original prescribing doctor gave me a five year live expectancy if I did not use this drug, scare tactics maybe?

45 Years old, Taking Crestor 5 mg for about 2 years, justed positive for hepatitus b.

I experienced dizziness that was very bad with vomiting and off balance after only taking the medication of 10 mgs for three days...scarey...
