I had been taking voltarol/diclo…
I had been taking voltarol/dicloflex for twenty years to relieve osteo-arthritic pain in my knes and was very satisfied with it. Two years ago, I apparently (provisional diagnosis only) developed Crohn's Disease and was immediately taken off dicloflex. For more than two years, I have had to endure the pain which had previously been relieved by dicloflex. A knee replacement of my right knee did nothing to help - in fact symptoms were subsequently worse such that I do not contemplate seeking a replacement for my left knee.
I had previously suffered a blockage in my colon requiring an ileostomy and colonic resection. There had been no suggestion then that I should not continue with dicloflex.
I have now come across a nearly full box of dicloflex from early 2007 and 50 or 100mg a day have given me the pain relief that I haven't had for the last two plus years.
Is there a real danger of aggravating my stomach disorder by returning to pain rel;ief from diclofenac?
My GP seems to think so but my standard of life has taken a downward turn without diclofenac since stairs and even walking a modest distance is becoming more and more difficult.
