Took 2 tablets early evening by 9.30 pm had terrible pain by midnight had to go ER so bad thought had kidney stones

I had to have an abdominal scan. I had to eat light meals yesterday and took 2 dulcolax at lunch and then two at dinner. I was NPM from 10:00 p.m. My stomache worked once in the morning. It is now running and I have a discharge that smells?

Is it safe to take it everyday before bedtime?

I'm Uri, 17 yrs old. I've been using dulcolax for 3 weeks or more. I'm using it everyday because i want to feel clean all day. But my aunt. said that if i used to take it, there will be a side effects so it would be bad. Is it true?

it feels so good after defecating :-P
it's like remmoving those ecxessive materilas inside of me which could make me faaat haha LOL
it made me loose weight :-D

It really cleans out my system, making me feel very 'light'. I use evry now and then. :-D :) 8-)

It works 4 me. i use it wen I feel my system isn't cleaning out properly. :) :) :) :)

ok we ve done the same than u....but took it a little too far and we re started to get majorly worried as we putted 120 pills inside the protein powerder of of flatmate but there was only a quater left of powder in there so probs 30 scoops!!!!!!!

hi ive'd taken dulcolox for the first time and i feel like im havin a stomach pain??is it really like this??

I'm three months post -op rectal surgery. Took two dulcolax tablets,which worked on me,howeverthree hours I'm experiencing anal pain to the point of taking 15mg oxycodone to subdue the effects.

first time taking this drug. broke out in a cold sweat then blurred vision and hearing loss in a matter of minutes. i then felt as if i was going to pass out and collapsed onto the bathroom room floor, when i felt the urge i managed to get myself back on the toilet and go,along with the severe cramping. i will never take this poison again.

I took 1 dulcolax pill around 8 pm. I suddenly awoake at 2 am sweating, heart racing, dizzy, nausaus, and felt like I was going to die for sure. My friend had the same experience and we decided we would NEVER take dulcolax again. We both though we were poisoned.

I took one pill and a few hours later I get severe stomach cramps (which I expected). Later I start seeing rectal bleeding, not severe but little clots every once and a while. I become nauseous and I feel my heart rate slow down. I become light headed and soon all that is coming out of me is blood. In a few minutes I can't hear, see, or breath. This went away after I screamed for my mom and she opened the door for some air. I passed out on my bed and have decided to never take that pill again.

i take 1 pill before bedtime and at 4:30 in the morning i woke up with stomach pain and nagka-igit jud ko..basta paita lagi....dili najud ko mo-usab,, kaisa nalng

I have taken this product for at least the last 4 years and have not had any of the side effects other people have mentioned. It seems to be the only prodcut that works for me. I only take 1 pill twice a week.

is it safe to take this pill by pregnant women?

I had the most frightening experience with Ducolax. I took 2 pils went to bed at about 2 in the morning I woke with the most excruciating pain in my stomach, I got to the toilet and within 2 mins was feeling nauseous and dizzy!! I called for my husband who rushed in just as I was passing out. He carried me to the bed and called 911. my blood pressure was at 80/60 I still hadnt gone to the toilet, then all of a sudden I HAD to go no warning !!
I will NEVER take this again in England we have Andrews liver salts and that is mild and works way more efficiently... Scarey my husband thought I had died as I had stopped breathing . It should be taken off the market !!!        

I thought I'd just offer a positive perspective as there seem to be so many negative ones on this product. I had to take two doses of this (2 pills per dose) over two nights as part of a routine colonoscopy preparation. It worked completely as advertised. On the first night I took it at about 10pm and had two bowel movements - the first at about 6AM and the second about an hour later. I had to take another prep (Pico Salax) as along with Dulcolax to flush more out completely so I don't know if that lessened the effects people are claiming or not. On the second night I followed the same routine and the next morning (before the procedure) I had another bowel movement but as I was pretty much cleaned out by now there wasn't much to it.

This was a routine colonoscopy screening and I don't have any bowel issues so maybe that helped things out. I do admit that the bowel movements are strong but not unusual. Pretty much what I'd expect from a product that is supposed to move things along and clear them out.

My dulcolax experience was terrible. Severe stomach pain and cold sweat! I felt like I won't be able to carry it anymore and felt like dying in pain. I took 1 tablet in 12noon and felt the severe pain in 2:30 in the morning. I was inside the bathroom for 30 minutes. I'm so tired after so I rest and sleep. Now, I hesistate if I'm going to take dulcolax again. O.O  Is dulcolax really like that?

No effect after taking 1 tablet, no effect after taking 2, no effect after taking 3 and no effect after taking 4. Not even stomach cramps.. Stomach of steel.

so i just crushed whole box of these bad boys into my buddies protein ill keep you guys posted onthe aftermath kinda making me feel bad with al these severe reactions no worries though

I AM TAKING DULCOLAX SINCE ONE YEAR DAILY IN NIGHT , IF I NOT TAKE DULCOLAX MY STRAMCH NOT CLEAN . IT HAVE ANY SIDE DEFECT IF I TAKE DAILY

I got the chills from taking Dulcolax,I noticed it after the third timetaking it and wasn`t sure untili read it on here.
I flushed the rest down the toilet.

my partner has been taking these for just over a month is this a problem

ive takern ducolax for a few months the last 3 days nothing has happened

this is the second time i took it was last night... the first time i took it i got severjoint pain,swelling in hands and feet and a weird rash under my skin. Like my blood vesels broke. I went to the er because i didnt know what was wrong with me.. Now i have the same thing swollen hands, feet and a rash no joint pain though.. so i put 2 and 2 together and im never taking theses again!!! Now i have a $5000.00 doctor bill i cant pay yea!!!

My Mom just had a tumor removed from her transverse colon.  It had also invaded part of her stomach so the surgeon removed part of that also.  He makes her take 3 Ducolax every day.  She is86 years old and only 80 pounds.  It is making her so sick w/ nausea, vomitting & heartburn.  This seems like an excessive dose....expecially right after surgery.  Anyone w/ similar experience or adivse?

whoever is asking why take 3 pills...those are the instructions on the damn package.

took 3 pills, became queasy, heartburn, by next morning spent 6 hours doubled up in bathroom near screaming...could not work that day, by evening still nauseous & barely able to walk. hope by tomorrow this goes away

HYPOGLICEMIA.  BAD LOW SUGAR LEVEL.

A few years ago I tried Dulcolax.  I didn't get the cramps, but awoke in the night feeling terrible and passed out.  I mentioned to my Doctor that I thought I'd had a reaction, but he ignored me.  I'll never take a sodium based laxative again. 

I am prepping for a colonoscopy tomorrow.  About 3 years ago when I took 2 dulcolax for constipation,  I awoke around 3 A.M.  I remember having severe stomch cramps and bending over the lavatory feeling so sick.  Then I obviously fainted and awakened with a huge knot on my head as a result of possibly hitting my head on the bathtub when I fell to the tile floor.  I have cleared it with the Dr. that I will NOT take Dulcolax as a prep to my colonoscopy. I was relieved to see that others had the same experience. My Dr. at the time wanted to do a brain scan a few days later because he didn't believe it could be the Dulcolax that caused my fainting.  I refused as I was certain it WAS the Dulcolax. Scary. Haven't fainted since!

I took one tablet before bed --the first time I had used this product- earlier this week. I woke up with a horrible stomach pain, hot, sweaty and tunnel vision. I then passed out in the bathroom waking the household with an incredible thump. My husband found me unresponsive with no color at all and thought I was dead wedged behind the door in the bathroom.
I ended up coming to after a minute or two, and had 911 come, take me to the ER and am okay now, BUT I will never use or recommend this product to anyone.
Scary to think of it as an over the counter product.
User- beware!

Not sure how that is stupid, especially if you are given instruction by a gastro doctor to take 3 which is the recommended dosage for an endoscopy without sedation. Also the package states to take 1-3

I was instructed by a Gastro doctor to take 3 of these pill prior to an endoscopy so that is not really true.

Took 3 ducolax at 10 pm for an endoscopy the following mornining. Woke up at 4am in excrutiating pain and extreme naseau. Could not have a bowel movememnt for almost 30 minutes although the urge was there. I then threw up bile for about 10 minutes. Next came the explosive bowel movement that had my stomach cramping. I have never experienced this kind of pain and cramping before and I have Crohn's disease which did not help. I would never recomend this product to anyone and cannot understand how it can possibly still be sold to people

I took one dulcolax tablet last night and woke up with the worse stomach cramp ever. This is really strange to me as I've ever taken two tablets and those were pretty bad so I cut down my dosage to one. One tablet usually goes smoothly but this morning's one was terrible. I would not reccommend this to anyone either.

Extreme stomach cramps lasting 10 hours, vomited the whole time and almost passed out numerous amounts of times.  I do not reccommend this to anyone.

The pkg says to take 1-3 tabs. I took 2. I am sorry I chose to take this product without first reading reviews. I have been inthe bathroom for an hour with extreme cramps, vomiting and feeling dizzy/faint. I really think I might go to the er if this continues any longer than another hour. This product should come with a big warning for first time or infrequent users.

You should never take 3 pills of anything you haven't had before that you don't know how your body is going to react to; especially when you don't take stool softeners often.

My first ever experience with a laxative.

Took 2 pills, as hadn't went for 6 days.

Woke 3 hours later with SEVERE SEVERE cramping. Spent 30 min or so in bathroom, and by the time I went back to bed I was exhausted and hot and sweaty. I either took too many or not enough. I still am feeling somewhat constipated today.

i agree!!! awful, i had the same symptoms, i was ready to go to the hospital

stupid people taking more than 1 tablet!  1 tablet is enough guys to take during the night, no wonder you feel like passing out, you took more than what you only need.

I took this by mistake, I saw dulcoease adverised but bought this by mistake. I had bad cramps and rushing to the loo. Felt better and went out and had a burger big mistake, had the runs in the shopping centre and again when I got home. i will never take this again but will get duloease which is a stool softner.

I took 2 Dulcolax tablets Wednesday night at about 11:30 pm. Abdominal pain woke me up at about 4:30 am Thursday morning, and I had to rush to the toilet. It was only 5 mins after I returned to bed that I had to return to the toilet. I had little pain during the day yesterday, but I used the toilet about 5 more times during the day. Today I have not gone to the toilet, but last night and presently I'm experiencing stomach pain, lower abdominal cramps and I feel nauseous.

I took 2 tablets last night and nothing happend this morning, I took it because my last bowel action was on Saturday morning, ussually I took dulcolax to help me to ease the action

I took two Dulcolax tablets each containing 5 mg of Bisacodyl at eight oclock in the evening ,a few hours later I woke up with stomach cramps. An hour later I was sick and also having excrutiating pain and very bad diarhea. I was fainting and sweating profusely. I kept falling on the floor in the bathroom. I have never experienced anything like it. The pain was worse than having a baby!! After spending at least and hour on the toilet I went back to bed but only stayed there for a few minutes before I had to go back to the bathroom. I then noticed large amounts of blood in the toilet which made me really scared. I continued to go to the bathroom all day and I am still suffering from cramps. each time  go the th bathroom there is blood. I will be seeing my doctor in England when I get back. I am surprised this product is still on the market!!!!

I just recently got for wisdom teeth taken out 6 days ago. The pain killers they prescribed me made me constipated for the last 5 days. I asked my mom to give me something over the counter to help me go to the bathroom. She gave me 3 dulcolax tablets around 9 pm, i hit me about an hour later. I fet sever stomach pains and felt like i was going to pass out. I laid on the ground cramping for a bit, with my ears ringing and chills going up and down my body. I literaly thought i was going to pass out. I made my way to the bathroom and it took me about an hour to pass the first stool. It was terrible!!! I thought it was over but little did i know i would be up for the next 7 hours with more pains and explosive diahreah. This is the following day,, and im still going and havent been able to eat anything.

I took 2 dulcolax tablets (the recommended dosage at 5 mg each) at 10:00 pm. I had abdominal pain and a restless night. I awoke at 6:30 am to use the bathroom and experienced severe abdominal cramping followed by nausea and loss of consciousness. I bruised my head in the first fall. I fell unconscious once more while trying to get to water. Thankfully, my husband heard me and came to help at that point. I still could not stand. I became very hot and broke into a sweat. Then, I had severe, explosive diahreah and was unable to leave the bathroom for 30 minutes. When I felt save enough to lie back down, the abdominal cramping continued and muscle cramping in my right leg began. It's been 3.5. hours since the fainting spells, and I still cannot get too far from the toilet.
