Effexor

Headaches BAD and very sleepy and increased anxiety

Thank you everyone. I am definitely going to tell my shrink that I need to get off effexor
immediately. Does anyone out there also take lithium and temazapam(sleeping pill)?

I have been on effexor 75mg. 3 times a day. My dosage was lowered to 75 mg. 2x. I have been on this medication for about 25 yrs. I got the sweats, my eyes got blurry, and itchy skin.
I know that the cause of my depression was the life style I had. I am not depressed anymore
and would like to get off this medication. I spoke to my shrink and he told me I could go
down to 1 pill a day. Now I would like to get off it completely. Has anyone done this out there? :)

I was taking Effexor 150 mg daily when all of a sudden my ability to focus my eyes at nearly any distance begain to occur. I looked this up on another website which says that this occurs in about 4% of Effexor users. I told my doctor about this and, for some reason, he seemed to not believe me. I still am gradually working my way down from 150 down to 0mg over about a ten day period and I can see almost immediate improvement.

What neurotransmitters other than serotonin and norepinrphrine, does Effexor XR effect? houston@cfl.rr.com

I am taking 300mg of effexor and I believe is it causing dysuria.  Could this be correct?

I feel horrible in the morings. do not want to get up and after pills have an upset stomach

Ive been off Effexor for two weeks, replaced by prozac wasnt bad until this morning, the dizziness was so severe i couldnt get out of bed, why are the symptoms so delayed i expected this in the beginning, its scary

10 years on effexor, weight gain of 20 lbs last 5 years when increased to 300mg., no change in cal or exercise, since getting older realized needed fewre calories so tried to reduce like always could wirh WW and exercise, no success, couldn't budge scale, doc didn't think related to effexor, now I know it is from others experience, but what to do?

I have been on effexor. I stopped "cold turkey". I know this is wrong.
I have gained 25 pounds in the past year. I have increasingly became more depressed.
I can't sleep. I have strong thoughts of wanting to die.
I don't want to kill myself, but I just don't want to be.
I have strong ringing in my ear and I have been dizzy.
I am a nurse so I cannot share these symptoms with anyone for fear of being "crazy".
I am NOT going to take the drug. I hear I could have side effects past eight weeks.
I wish I would of never of started taking this drug.

very vivid dreams, feel like i'm awake watching my dreams which results in the feeling of getting no sleep. when i forget a dose, i get brain fuzzies. constipation. anxious.

took effexor for 2-3months and my anxiety got worse and i had the adverse sexual side effects where my hormones were on overdrive.

had effexor yesterday 75 mg not again nusea,blurred vision and today the worst longest headache I have ever had,GP didn't even check my BP before prescription.I am recovering from a fractured skull think I will deal with my depression without drugs

Effexor & Pristiq is poison - I would know, I started taking it at 16 yrs old, instead of counselling I was given Effexor by a 'psychiatrist drug dealer' I was never offered counselling. I spent of $25,000 on this medication in my lifetime. Discontinuation Syndrome has been my worst nightmare. The brain zaps are disgusting. I wish I could get all of the people who hate venlafaxine together to sue these pharmaceutical companies. They have earnt billions of dollars off the suffering of us and we are the only ones who pay.
