Enbrel

I have develop dizziness, cough,sinus as a result of taking enbrel and also .I also now get prolonged erection and do not know if this is due to to this medication.

I have AS and on 50mg embrel injection. It helps a lot and no side effects. It may
take more than 4 injections before you see a difference, but it works for me and I was
told by 2 doctors that embrel was the safest of the biologics.

be en taking enbrel for about six or seven years,was part of a study group when it was only for artritis , it has help with the joint pain if I take it like i am suppose to it all but stops. my ins will only pay for half so i have to span the injections further apart than my doc wants. before starting enbrel i had psoriasis or about 75 percent of my body and had pain in every step i took not oh that hurts a little more like crying like a little girl it has never made me feel bad until recently and im not sure its the drug. i may go a month without it and then take it but reintroducing it like that cant be smart , that been said without this drug may joints by now Im 37 would be very damaged and and normal life would be difficult. the artritis atttack my pinkie before i started and destroyed the joint so yes you have to think for yourself quality of life or just life?

I have taken my 4th Enbrel injection as of yesterday, Friday. I am being treated for Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have a present HLA but have NEVER had any swelling, just pain. After being sick for two years, the drs. are trying the Enbrel. I have depression that is very hard to treat.
A-has anyone had pain with NO swelling?
B-Has anyone Not responded at all after 4 injections?
c-Anyone with depression, has that increased with Enbrel?

me too on the stomach.

i take it right before i go to sleep at night because of the sickness and headaches if you sleep through it you dont feel it and wake up feeling ine try it. i remember taking it before school, one day and thought i was going to die i felt so weird. sleep off the headache and see if it helps.

it is said that Enbrel helps reverse the symptoms of arthritis i have seen this. your back should not fuse. My arthritis is reversing and i have been cleared to ride horses again.

I have ankylosing spondilitis. I had severe side effects to methotrexate. like all possible side effects i mean suicide thoughts and depression the whole nine yards. Have been on Enbrel for almost two years and have seen spectacular results it was said I would be in a wheelchair this year when i graduate high school and I can run so Enbrel works you have to try it and believe it is going to work. If you doubt it you will not see the results you would going in confident it is going to work best of luck to all who are starting Enbrel.

Will be starting Enbrel next week. Reading these side effects scares me. i have ankylosing spondylitus and am worried about future fusing of my back. But I could live with what I have verses all these side efects.  Comments please?

I started 1 month ago...knees and hips are better, but most surprising is I'm breathing better..anyone else see improvement, maybe less turbinate swelling?

I am suffering sickness and headaches, and was wondering if anyone else has this after taking enbrel, I had no reactions for a while, then shortness of breath although the hospital were treating me for ashma, I stopped taking it for 2 months to see if this improved and I have to say it has, but because of my joint pain I have reluctaltly started again, only to get this dreadful sickness feeling back again, I dont know what to do.

My life was really terrible because of pain and bone changes before I began Enbrel. It is giving me my life back even it's for a shorter period of time, it will be worth it. My motto today is to live each day as pain free and feeling as good as possible. Enbrel is making my days tolerable and making me able to do the things I want to do.
Please do not take Enbrel off the market.

Wilson, I find it interesting that you complain about Abdominal pain and lower right back 70% of the time. I have the same problem, and, have been taking Enbrel about the same amount of time as you, maybe a little longer. I agree it helps, I did not notice how much it helped until I had to come off of it due to an abcessed tooth root for three months. I just got back on it and I am experiencing some of the side effects. It makes me really drained the second day after I take it, and can cause headaches, but that usually disapears. I was wondering if anyone has had abnormal liver function test while on Enbrel and if that could be the cause???

I have been on this drug for more than 10 years and I have never had a single problem its helped me greatly.

45 Male on Enbrel 4 + years ,
My condition is all but gone and I really use no other meds now.
 Expect a dry cough , Poor night vision ,Memory loss ,and in some cases (345) amniesia.
I HAVE noticed a difficulty in learning new  things or comprehending new procesess within  the past year and that concerns me. I feel thats related to the larger dose.
Dose is 50m 2x week right now will return to 1x week next month.
Abdominal pain lower right back 70% of the time. several tests and scans in  last 2 years have not found any  reason for that pain.
In spite of the directions saying let it warm up for a few min before the injection
I have found that Taking the syringe out of the fridge and  putting the needle into the belly right away while COLD is far better and inject it very slowly.
No bruises at the injection site in 4 years.
I never really could tolerate the shot in the legs, only stomach.

I started taking Enbreal on 11/30/10,  On 12/24 I started with severe diarrhea with stomack and intestinal pain.  Today, 01/31-11 I still have diarrhea, but no longeer explosive.  The frequency is less.  My doctor does not believe it is Enbrel, but I am convinced it is.  Has anyone else experienced diarrhea with Enbreal for such a long period of time.  I would appreciate your responses.  Eva

I been using Embrel for about 10 year ago is good you only need to stop when you have infection and do again when you are ok. this dont cure, only help you to kee going

My father was on embrel nfor abot 4 or 5 years and just passed away, my he rest in piece.  I sincererly, believe than being on embrel for so long caused his death many years too early.  He was the type man that would not go to the doctor, the only timme he would go to see doc was to get refills on the embrel. he was  smoker which def made situations worse.  But with him smoking and takin embrel caused all of his symptoms to progress at a much higher rate1  We all smoke and news years resoultion was that  we were all going to quit.  He even had his doc prescribe chantix, he was determind as we all were.  Well with my deepest regrets, whe past away this october a the age of 61. He would have had a good 10 -15 years left in him if it wasn't b/c pf the embrel.  Ever sie he started embrel his health went ddown  hill.  Before, embrel, my dad never ever got sick.  Not even if every1 in the house was was sick with the flue or whatever.  On emrel he would costantly get all sorts of infecions and colds, bronchitis , etc which would last for months.  Once he went off it, symptoms subsided and back to normal.  Embrel really did cause hime to die at a much earlier age than if he it he wasn't taking it. He would have quit smoking and easily reversing most symptoms whith the technology out these days.  We could have had more time toghther, he could have seen this grandchildren get married.  Even if we got another month with him it would have made a world of a differnce.  He and my mom are  snowbirds, fl in the winter, ny in summer.  Usually  every year, my husband, my kids and me go uo to visit them in my for 3 weeks, but couldn't this year b/c of money problems.  So we all have't had a chance to see him in 5 months.  The first week he gets back to fl, he has a massie coronary.  So barely had a chance to spen time with him b/c of kids,  school, work ....Embrel killed my father, and it should be take off of the marker,  Just because the govt. says it ok to take doesnt man a damn thing these day.  The polititions have the drug companies in their pockets so money means more than our familys lives and they need to be stopped!!!!  I heard they were going to start giving it to children, now that is crossing over the line to evil!!!!!  Yes they do list side effecs, but they say 1% will get cancer,tb, heart attacks.

i have nodules where my injection site are has anyone had those

I have been on enbrel for 6 weeks.  I become very nausious about 3 days after the injection.  I've also had muscle crams and soreness in my legs and feet.  Has anyone experienced any of these side effects?

I have been on enbrel for two years now, It has worked well for me and no side effects. But this last severel weeks I have developed Proctitis ( Rectel Bleeding ) wandering if anyone else has had this problem I hope it is not connected this drug has helped my phoriasis more than anything else.

This drug is extremely dangerous.  It killed my husband, he was first diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and then with Invasive Aspergillosis fungus in both lungs.  STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you want to stay alive. 

I am a 31 year old female.  I weigh 125 lbs.  I took Enbrel on and off for about 3 years for chronic psoriasis.  Towards the end of my last treatment and since, I have been diagnosed with chronic accute bronchitis, chronic accute sinusitis, pneumonia 3 times in one year, diagnosed with asthma, have had an ectopic pregnancy, ruptured ovarian cyst, have had 8 biopsies in the past month, 5 of which came back positive for melanoma skin cancers.  In addition, I have to go in every four months for more biopsies on my skin, as I have developed similar small flat moles on every area of my body.  This cancer is not found in my family history.  This drug did clear my psoriasis considerably.  I am sure this drug would have killed me had I continued taking it.  As much as I paid for the drug...I just disposed of a 4 1/2 month supply as I look at it as poison now.     

Get off of it ASAP...this drug is toxic

I have had a cough for about 6 months, and its quite active, sometimes painful, I have been on enbrel for about a year, does anyone else have this problem, I am not even sure if its connected.

What kind of reaction did you get at the injection site?

I used Enbrel for almost two years now.  My last dose was on 03/22/2010.  I just had to quit, because I developed heart problems. Just one day at my work I falled out on the floor. I just very closed to get a desfibrilator, my heart was pumping like crazy. I'm going to have a heart surgery on 05/21/10.

Just be careful. Make your cardiologist your best friend.

I been on enbril for 1 month and had no side effect. 

I have been on enbrel sure click for almost a year now.  It has been not short of a miracle for my ra.  I did have fairly severe injection site reactions for the first 8 weeks or so but they have completely vanished now.  I have recently developed eczema for the first time in my life.  I can handle it.  It is much better than the horrific pain I suffered from ra.  i am very frightened that it will stop working though,  i have recently had my first "flare" And my doctor tells me tht I might be developing an immunity to my medication.  i pray not.
