Endone

I have recently started taking endome for a hip fracture from sport (at 28yo that sucks!). It makes sleeping the only pain free time I get BUT I can def see how people het addicted and know I'm going to stubble coming off it. The only side effect I get is akin crawling- this started after the 4th night (so quite early on)..... I have the feeling it might be easier to continue than stop- not cool

I have been taking endone as a last resort for chronic pain as a result of injury trauma sustained 20 years ago. I usually use digesic and only turn to endone when the pain is truly intense; 1 or 2 tabs once a week or even 2 or 3 weeks for 10 years. This is an extremely strong pain killer and should not be used without a prescription/doctors advice.
It has caused itchiness and can influence mood swings, it has caused or exacerbated headaches. It loses effectiveness with constant use as I build up a resistance if I have a bad week and use it daily. If you find the pain easier to deal with than the side effects, this is the wrong drug, use something milder. This is for extreme pain and can be highly addictive!

I took 5mg tablets six hourly for nearly 2 days , 7 tablets taken for fractured ribs, I am now back on Panadol , I prefer the pain to my experience , disturbed sleep, wild dreams, clammy skin , felt as though I was on the verge of a panic attack worst drug experience in my life

We are living the same nightmare. My mother is 78 and on Endone, Oxycontin, Valium and a cocktail of other drugs to deal with chronic pain as a result of years of operations for hip and knee replacements. She is also no longer the Mother we know and love. She has become angry and paranoid, at times delusional, self pitying, agressive and unable to do anything for herself. My Father is also broken and unable to cope anymore. I completely believe that it is the drugs that has made her this way and we are desperately trying to find anyone who specialises in a multi pronged treatment plan. But everywhere we turn the answer seems to be to put her in a nursing home. I know my Mum is still in there somewhere, she just needs the right care to find her, but noone seems to offer it.

My 80 year old mother is on Endone for severe right shoulder and knee pain - she is also on other medication for thyroid, depression(pristiq 300mg), blood pressure. panadol osteo etc etc etc - once a vibrant woman, she is now angry, confused, moody, and at times dillusional and wallowing in self pity and no further away from her pain - my father who is quite healthy for his 82 years is a broken man as we struggle to care for someone who sleeps all day and doesn't care to interact with her family or busy herself with simple tasks - this is not the mother we know - would it be the endone, or is it a mixture of all her medication - we need help -

i starting taken endone which was descibe to a friend and not me cause i liked the way it makes me feel i take it about 2 tablets about five times a week i developed i urge to itch reguarly and sweat alot my sleeping patterns have changed and think i have developed a dependancy to the endone..... i have not had any for about five days now i have a severe migraines and stayed up late cause i cant sleep . please help is this normal

I have been taking 1/2 a tablet as have severe headaches as i have bells palsy and i get itchy under my skin its just one adverse reaction to it mine is all over my body like a few tablets i take I justput up withit as i know the tablets are doing my migraines a lot of good with bells palsy its like a stroke all muscles on left side of my face droop and cause the headaches if u can put up with the itch keep on them try cutting down to 1 tablet and see how you go. Been put on Endone (5mg) . Been taking 2 a night when pain gets really bad and iv'e developed really itchy rash on both buttocks. Couldn't figure out why at first until i decided to google - i thought i contracted golden staph at hospital and sat in casualty for an hr only to be told - "Try cortisone. Looks like some kind of rash". Gosh, i might just try Nurofen Plus instead...

Can endone cause any anger problems or aggrovation problems with other people, my brother had a oporation and takes aleast 8 a day and has always got a temper can this be the cause?

That stuff might help with pain,but after having my ovaries out and in lots of pain I needed pain releif.2days since I stopped and I'm feeling so sick depressed,can't sleep,already had hot flushes but seems worse.is this normal

I am 26 years and 22 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy, i have had low blood pressure and fell backwards onto some concrete i pinched a nerve in my back an had 2 swollen discs and put my hip out 2 inches. i could not move much and was in a great deal of pain. my doc put me on endone 5mg three times a day it did not get rid of much pain but i did get headaches, sweats, vomiting and alot of dizziness. stopped taking them after a week had physio and feeling better! :) next time i would stick to panadol and heat packs..

Please note the post before mine- she was clearly experiencing withdrawal symptoms - palpitation, cardio, respiratory - all common withdrawal symptoms appearing after non use of "Endone". This doesn't mean it wasn't scary but it does mean that there was a specific contraindication for use. I hope your back improves!

Post before that one- you had just come out of a general anaesthesia, it is very very common for nausea and dizziness to occur after either morphine use (common after surgery, even arthroscopies) or most likely the fluoride gas used to continue your sedation, half life 1.5hrs (average). Maxolon (Metaclopramide) would normally help you feel better after that, and should probably have been given intravenously on hearing of your nausea.
The itching mentioned may be either an allergic reaction or a side effect. Those with a pre-existing condition such as depression should not be using this medication either- it is contraindicated for use with these patients.

24Male- STUDY Pharmacology 4TH YEAR. Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy and Ear operations, 2XEndone 5mg every 4-6hours, no side effects, whoever reads this please bear in mind that you may experience some side effects, you may experience none. I have been taking this for the past 2 weeks. Will taper off to AVOID withdrawal effects. Those who stop quickly WILL experience side effects- it is an opioid narcotic, this is what they do with plasma levels in the blood. Be careful, these are strong AND HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, due to withdrawal. Apart from that, if you are in a large amount of pain, you SHOULDN'T have to go through it- that's why OxyCodone is there :) I hope this helps people concerned.

I have had a artifical disc replacement in my lumbar spine and in pain still. I am on endone only 1/2 tablet- so usually 2 a day when unwell and I've had severe dizzy sensations like I'm falling, I almost passed out behind the wheel of the car ( I wasn't on the medicine at the time- it was 3 days after I had stopped), very fast heart rate (up to 170 bpm), restlessness, sweating ( alot), constipation,headaches. It is very scary to read that this has happened to others as well. I can't concentrate and I forget things as well, which is very distressing as I'm studying. What do you do when your in pain and can't sit. I thought I was having a stroke and was admitted with an irregular heart rate last year. If this was the cause it is a very scary drug.

Ten minutes after taking 2 x 5mg Endone as per doctor instructions (I just had knee arthroscopic surgery) I started to feel dizzy, because nauseated and vomited. I slept nearly all day. The silly thing is that the pain was not that bad, panadol would have been enough.

Had back pain. Took four tablets first day. Didn't stop pain. Then within hours suffered headaches, diahorrea, giddiness, irregular heart beat,bad reflux, nausea and very tired. Took five tablets next day then stopped. Spent three days bedridden. All symptoms got worse and now I am coming back to normal although still have diahorrea. I would rather have had the back pain and taken nothing compared to taking these tablets.

Have been on endone for 3 days for gallbladder pain (am waiting for removal) and after Digesic didn't work effectively for me. Hospital prescribed 10 my twice a day along with paracetemol. I am so itchy and extremeley depressed. Nauseous too so have been taking maxolon too. The itching makes me want to kill myself. I will be stopping endone tonight and going back on digesic. Allergic to codeine. This drug is evil in my opinion.

I'm recovering from the removal of a Pidonial Synis and i was prescibed some endone for the pain. And it's been 6 weeks and it's only just started to get really painful to the point where i need the endone... but the side effects just arent worth it. After about 20mins it kicks in, but the pain relief only lasts 2 hours. I took it two days ago and i've still got side effects. I feel floaty, naucious, drowsiness,  I have reflux, and yesterday I had some really bad memory loss. Forgetting things is one thing, but when you lose a whole time frame it's really scary.

Shoulder arthroscopy and Rotator Cuff repair too.  Given Endone on discharge- also 1-2 tablets 6 hourly.  Also great pain relief on 1st day. From 2nd day had nausea, vomiting and diahorrea. Headaches and high blood pressure. As I am allergic to codeine based products, I believed I was allergic to all opiate based products. Could this be the case or just coincidence?

i take endone twice a day and it really relaxes me and takes all my worries away. because im now addicted to it my gp has to take me off them. i have no idea what the withdrawals will be like/

Ive been on Endone since Dec 2011 for chronic back pain and now Im going to request the doctor to take me off it.  I have dreadful nightmares, night sweats and the endone has become counter productive because of the masking effect.  The night sweating are the worst and of course the nightmares, otherwise it worked really well.

ihave osteo., and am waiting for total knee replacement..i can colerate endone but onlt take half a tablet at a time 2 in24 hours.  side effects muddle brain can barely function yet have to take some pain relief as my gait is affecting those areas of damage in by back

have been on endone 3 years  Feel exhaused cannot sleep till early morning itching red spots and rash all over places on my body forgetfulness so weary by evening just hit the bed to rest loss appetite  i am on endone 5mg threetimes a day   Also Dr just added Tramal 2x a day

I had from the hospital and got as prescription from the hospital for my serious migraine. The headache was even worse. I had all kinds of side effects such as sleep walking, amnesia, and fall. I would not like to take the endone no more.

I'm taking Endone 5 mg once or twice a day for my back-pain since 2008. Apart from back-pain, I severely suffer from Depression (Severe Recurrent Depressive Disorder). My doctor is very intelligent and considerate lady who tried everything including pain clinic etc. At the end of the day, we settled with Endone. Strangly, I found that apart from reducing my back-sore, Endone also helps tremendously with my depression which Pristiq 300 mg (an anti-depressant prescribed by my Psychiatrist Dr. Ian Katz) does not which I have been taking for last 6 months regularly! I wanted to give it a try to stop taking Endone and from 1st of January 2011 till the 5th of January 2011, I was without the drug. What happened is catastrophic, I totally crashed, just like fell into the Black-Hole with my depression in severest form so badly that I couldn't raise my head from the pillow, speak to anyone etc., I felt that my days were over! Then I started Endone back again on 5th January 2011 and I felt tremendously good (for example, 10 mg in the morning relieves me for 4 hours+ etc.). With regard to relief, I meant that Endone completely gets me off from my Depression and my pain in the back for the hours I mentioned before! I started to look up in the Internet and your website 'PatientsVille.com' where I found one person commenting that he was taking Endone for last 20 years, nothing harmful happened to him, here I'm quoting what he wrote in your website "well i have been on endone for around 20 year, no bad effects. I take 10 mg (two tabs) every 4 hours when the PAIN is severe, yes I itch a little and yes it gets a bit out of it. but I gladly put up with that than the severe PAIN but as for pandadol forte and like drugs good for a HEADACHE or sooks who dont have real PAIN anyway." unquote.

Hi. I'm really sorry to hear about your husband, its best to go back to doctors if it was the endone, to see if it was endpne. but yes. Endone was pretty scary experience for me, have no idea, why it has bad side effects to some people, and it doesnt to others. possibly different chemical makeup in our system perhaps. not sure..

I was taking Endone in the hospital for a broken leg,have only taken one at home and would not take anymore as they are they cause of my Terribly Painful Constipation.

Been prescribed endone after breast recontruction (lost breast to cancer several mths ago) It made me feel sick, had headaches and a very itchy skin rash. Took myself off them and now on nurofen +, much better.

My mother has been on endone twice once when she broke her hip 2 years ago and again now as she broke her other hip and even though there are no known side affects. mum got incontenience

my mum is taking Endone for her cronic back pain which has been a mystery to all of us including her doctors...I took two tblets last night to see what effect it had because i wanted to know how she felt on endone. I know that everyone has different side effects and that it propably was't a good idea but i experienced itchey skin and a very restless sleep

when i was on endone because i broke my leg in a car accident.. i suffered from different side effects such as a bloody discharge from the anus.

Sorry.. The sudden onset of sharp pain was on the the left hemisphere of my brain, NOT RighT side.. IN  REDARDS TO MY LONG MESSEGE BEFORE.

I had a sudden onset of right hemisphere sharp pain (headache on one side), which shook me from head to toe, a stranger rang the ambulance on the street, and since i had similar experience a month ago, but i went unconcious after severe sudden onset of head ache and paralysis of half body, anyways, at emergncy they did lumbar puncture to see it if was stroke, result was negative, but migraine  (hemiplegic). sent home with endone, after experincing severe back pain from lumbar puncture and post lumbar headache. was told to take 2 x 5mg endone every 4 hours. but i was too scared to take it, so i only took one, then didnt do much. then i took 2 after 4 hours, and then i dont recall much, all i recall is, ambulance again, cos i was very nasueas, couldnt breath properly, and was so dizzy, i couldnt walk staright, and was hitting walls as i try walking, then i think i had severe migraine starting, or did i have migraine before, i forgot.. then... anyways. when ambulance came, i was already sweating palms, chest pain, tightness, and nearly collapsed. whilst i was waiting as a migraine patient in hospital, i told them, if i can take panadine forte instead of endone, cos the 4 hours next dose time was coming, and migraine was at its peak, and i just got my period, ( i get really bad ones, where i nearly black out from period pain) they said ok you can try panadine forte, but endone is stronger then panadine forte, i said i know, but i take panadine forte for my period, so i took it, and the migraine eased off about 25% and i could actualy breath and not sweat anymore... and actualy open my eyes.. the vomiting feeling went away after few hours later, there is somehting really wrong about endone, anyways, they sent me home with panadine forte and said this is what you take for migraine, and referd me to neurologist to discuss what migraine is and my options. i think i had amnesia, also when i was on endone, i forgot where i was and what was going on, very hard to tell between reality and dream state at some stage, it was not pleasant, and i woudlnt ever take it again, scared the hell out of me, when i was assured that there would be no side effects...

I have been taking ENDONE for the past 8yrs for a ankle injury.although
I have not had any side effects I do like my pain free sleep.my concern is what is this drug doing to my internal organs,I only take 1a day unless it's real bad then 1 every 5 hours for a couple of days.so can anyone tell me what is going on inside please

i have just been prescribed endone 5 Mg for chronic lower back pain and told to take two every 4 hours which i did for 24 hrs , after 24 hrs i had a massive bout of paranoia hot and cold and soreness to some parts of my skin i have stopped taking them now

my daughter had a ankle injury due to sport and was given 1 endone  at the hospital and the affects where great with the pain but she had blurred vision , a really bad headache, numbness in her face and couldnt talk properly,we had to wait until the affects wore off before we left the hospital.

ive had similar experiances, ive been i started with a really really bad tooth ache, and was put on panadeine forte,it worked for a while till i realised i was having to take 6 at a time!a yr later it was a box a day.....my gp found out and put me on endone, the first time i took it, i felt hot and itchy,i got this strong feeling in my nose like i kept havin to rub it, it was a weird strong feeling plus i felt as though i was gonna vomitt.....it also made me feel off my face which i liked coz takin so much forte had given me a buzz, but i didnt like the endone, my heart started racing,i ended up having a panic attack!
so i stopped it after that one pill. i dont know why this happened coz, my body was so immuned to taking so much forte.
In the end, its been 3 years now and im up two taking 3 or 4 boxes of forte a day! im addicted to the codeine,its wrecked my life and ive been in and out of mental health, my last visit there bein just over two weeks ago in the drug n alcohol unit! ive voud not to take the pills anymore coz my kids are more important,i was clean for 11 days but i messed up today! im dissapointed,but hopefully its a first and last!

my mother(77) has just been given endone, she is on blood pressure tablets ,has an irregular heart beat, has had a stroke, on blood thinners, on valium,her spine is collapsing in parts. can you tell me if this will be safe for her or not????

I injured my back. The doctor at the emergency gave me 2 tablets of endone 5mg each. I felt very tired, drowsy and horrible nausea feeling. I was told to take 2 tablets 4 times aday. I did it the first day and felt so sick. I had a feeling that it was the endone that made me sick so i reduced to one tablet and still felt sick. I stopped taking it. Now on neurofen and panadol.

The itching is called pruritus & is a common side effect associated with Strong Opiate inegstion. Although if you are scratching, as bad as stated I would stay away from the meds as best you can & inform your doctor. Although itching or pruritus is a known side effect of Endone or OxyNorm (same drug (Oxycodone)). Severe itching & hallucinations could suggest a slight allergy or severe sensitivity. Best inform the prescriber so there is information about it on your medical history. 

That is a very wise move to decide NOT to seek another prescription. I have Severe Chronic Pain & unfortunately the pain only responds to Opiate meds. However having a Bachelor of Nursing Degree I know that Opiate meds are the last port of call to obtain pain relief & management. So I minimise the amount of times I have to take extra strong opiate meds so as to reduce tolerance. Tolerance with meds is when the body becomes more use to or reliant on the drug for relief. Tolerance can/is a real problem in pain management as the body requires more of a particular drug to get the same analgesia or level of pain relief. So what took 5mg to work before may take 10 -15mg down the track if you continue on them. Strong Opiate meds such as Endone or OxyNorm (same drug (Oxycodone)) should be used VERY sparingly as there is nothing except larger doses to keep pain tolerable. 

I have had ongoing shoulder pain for over 2 years and have had an operation. Shoulder still not good but went back to work when no cause could be found. Had panadeine forte which didnt give much relief and finally had a bit of a break down as I couldn't cope with stress of work and dealing with the pain. Was given Endone and nearly scratched my skin off during the night. Took for 2 nights and the same thing happened. The itching is horrendous and I had to stop after 2 nights. I am now trying Codeine but am dizzy and disoreiented. Might as well be dead.

i take 10mg ( two 5mg tabs) every 6 hours after i had surgury in friday i feel that its very good for pain but after i take it im out of it and would prefer to just take cadapan forte though not as strong as endone i dont feel as sick when on that drug

Repair.  Given Endone on discharge- 1-2 tablets 6 hourly.  1st day amazing pain relief.   Only took it at night 2nd night hallicunations plus severe headache.  Only took 2.5 mg but with the same results.  Now taking Panadol Rapid when necessary

After surgery to the throat was discharged with Codapane Forte and Endone,and advised to take 2 Endone the strong painkillers when required at night, The first night I was very dizzy and felt a bit sick but put that down to aneasthetic, the second night could not sleep had hellusinasions as if I was falling out of bed, very bad feeling. will not use again, stick to panadol 

Had Gall Stones given 5mg Endone that night,immediate relief,given forte's for the weekend awaiting surgery.Day of surgery given 5mg before hand for pain-immediate relief.After surgery morphine drip(dont know dose),then three 5mg endone over 10 hr period before discharge.given prescription of 20 have been taking at 4 hr periods during waking hrs.they have been very effective not only for the pain,but also give a pleasent,carefree feeling even a high which i look forward too.Took a double dose 10mg as i forgot a dosage and whoa,feels too good,im nearly through my prescription,but fortunatly my pain is subsciding as my body heals so i will not seek another prescription as i think iam taking more for comfort than pain relief.HIGHLY ADDICTIVE-BEWARE.

I had arthroscopy assisted open surgery on my left shoulder 4 weeks ago.  This is the most painful surgery I have ever experienced and was told it is more painful than either a hip replacement or knee reconstruction surgery.  During my hospital stay I had a pain buster pump which delivered morphine directly into the surgical site.  I was also give 2 endone and 2 panadine forte tablets every 4 hours and usually within 90-120 minutes I was asking for more pain relief by way of a morphine injection.  After 3 days I was discharged and continued to take the endone and panadine forte for another 3 weeks but not always together depending on the degree of pain I was experiencing.
The only side effects I noticed was of course constipation and some nausea.  I actually felt that the endone didn't rally help with the pain straight after surgery, only the morphine did.  I did find it helpful in the following 2 weeks after surgery.  I find that panadine forte gives me headaches which then makes me feel sick.  I am still taking this to help me sleep when the pain flares up.

I had partial mastectomy for invasive breast cancer and a sentinel lymph node removal. Endone was fabulous. They tried Fentanyl for burning pain deep in the cuts, then morphine - usless. Within 10-15 minutes of 10mg Endone tablets @8pm, the burning put out, I was able to get comfortable and sleep. Woke around 4pm and given more Endone and paracetomol. Sitting up in bed at 7am ready for discharge. Discharged with no pain relief and no scripts, except one Panadol as I left. I did not realise the reason I felt so well was the Endone. As it wore off, I had to return to casualty due to pain - one Endone @ 1am and another 2 @ 7am when I saw Dr - who gave me script for 3 days. Blessed relief. I was able to not be bought undone by the pain, slept well and woke up clear headed and in fact, with energy, focus and purpose. Only needed them of a night for 2 nights and stopped taking them third day. In terms of side effects, dry mouth [drank lots of water and chewed a lot of ice], constipation [ate licorice, then bottles of prune juice then finally got some Movicol] and mild but extremely pleasant hulliciations immediately prior to falling asleep. Pretty soft colours, a bit of a 3D effect like Avatar or Alice in Wonderland.  Nothing scary at all or unattractive. Did notice soon after I took it my eye balls went a bit fuzzy like I was seeing the same objects through a thin sheet of softly falling water. If  need it in future I would have no problems asking for it again in preference to other solid pain killers such as morphine or fentanyl. My worst pain was the deep burning under the armpit where the sentinel node was removed so it more than adequately dealt with that and in good time.

Had Arthroscopy on right shoulder. While in hospital, was given 3 Endone (I believe) with Paracetamol, over 8 hrs. On discharge at 12 hrs, I collected a packet of 20 Endone on prescription. Took 3 Endone (one with 2 Paracetamol) at 4 Hrly intervals. My symptoms were: indecisiveness (confusion?); constipation; increasing tremors, including stomach muscle tension. After realising the source of the symptoms, I took no more. By midday (17 hrs break) my body was wracked with minor aches due to previous 'rigour' and I had an extraordinary experience: clear voices and people; anomalous psychic seeming events. My sensation was of lightheadedness and mild breathlessness. At midday, due to the diverse aches and pains, not to say from Arthroscopy which was relatively mild, I took 2 Panadeine (paracetamol + codeine) and all symptoms faded. Plan to take 17 unused tabs back to hospital. A Hospital nurse did suggest I might experience constipation but said nothing about the apparitions or the 'shakes'. Experienced no swelling. Arthroscopy results continue to be satisfactory.

By midday (17 hrs break) my body was wracked with minor aches due to previous 'rigour' and I had an extraordinary experience: clear voices and people; anomalous psychic seeming events. My sensation was of lightheadedness and mild breathlessness. At midday, due to the diverse aches and pains, not to say from Arthroscopy which was relatively mild, I took 2 Panadeine (paracetamol + codeine) and all symptoms faded. Plan to take 17 unused tabs back to hospital. A Hospital nurse did suggest I might experience constipation but said nothing about the apparitions or the 'shakes'. Experienced no swelling. Arthroscopy results continue to be satisfactory.

Had Arthroscopy on right shoulder. While in hospital, was given 3 Endone (I believe) with Paracetamol, over 8 hrs. On discharge at 12 hrs, I collected a packet of 20 Endone on prescription. Took 3 Endone (one with 2 Paracetamol) at 4 Hrly intervals. My symptoms were: indecisiveness (confusion?); constipation; increasing tremors, including stomach muscle tension. After realising the source of the symptoms, I took no more. 52 y.o. male prescribed Endone following knee arthroscopy. Whilst on this medication I experienced difficulties with sleeping, hallucinations, impaired vision with vivid colours (similar to an experience with Pethedine years earlier), increased skin irriration (would wake up during the night feeling as though I was covered in bugs and realise I'd been scratching myself whilst sleeping to the point where I was bleeding), severe ankle swelling. Frightening stuff - will not use it again.

had right hip replaced 24 .3.2010. had halucinations p.m.25.3 reported this,no
 reaction .nightmares every night until 1.4.2010 then off endone .body is slowly returning to normal.make sure medical staff know what they're doing. not for me op. is an absolute nightmare. 

IF A NEW MUM WAS GIVEN TOO MUCH ENDONE COULD IT EFFECT THE TWO DAY OLD BUB. sHE WAS GIVEN TWO DOSES BCAUSE ONE WASN'T DOCUMENTED ON HOSPITAL CHART

Having herniated my L4 5 disc and effected my s1 nerve root endone pain releif and mobic anti inflamatory have been a really great help at giving me a close as possible to normal life again.but as with all back injury's the more active you become  the more pain may become evident again .I thought my back was getting heaps better until I went back to full time employment and noticed that the busier I got and faster I worked the pain levels started  to increase even though being careful and not lifting anything above my medicaly approved weight limits ,fortunately, I still am on workers compensation. always be careful and dont assume you are better until you have a long period of time go by off pain killers and any other medications so as to assess you realy are on track to feeling normal

made me totally nauseated and made me very groggie never again straight in the bin

I have had an ileostomy reversal about 12 weeks ago and have been taking Endone. My doctor suggested I stop taking Endone. I have, and it has been 10 days and I feel like I need to go to the toilet every waking hour.

Some pain relief. Mild disorientation and vomiting

I have been taking endones for 2 years now after lower leg sugery went wrong.. I take 2 ,5 mg tabs ,3 times a week only late afternoons mostly on worst pain days(panadol during day) i also have lower back damage wich they help .. I think iam getting use to them i dont get the sweats anymore and can eat heaps easy make sure to eat healthy foods salad vegs etc.. .. was just wondering what damage they are doing to my body?   I have noticed some hair loss front  recede, but at my age 34 i think that  is normal ..  endones have been the best pain medicine for me i think ...

had complete shoulder replacement take two endone three days a wk to enable me to complete physio. on those days i am disorientated vomiting confused unable to eat force liquids to help with the sweating headaches. in saying that glad i had surgery this wont be forever

Regarding endone, I ate ths for 5 days after knee surgery.
I usually dont take drugs and was able to notice these side effects very clearly:
-Severe Contipation
-Depression
-Mood swing, angry

Very similiar to Lynn

Only take it if pain is very strong, i changed to panadol intead and feel normal again.

does long term use of endone affect the liver?

I have been taking Endone (that is, the Oxycontin Slow Release version) for the past 10 weeks, following a bad fall in which I sustained 4 fractures to various vertebrae in my spine.

The dose has now been reduced to 1 tablet twice daily, 12 hrs apart - 30mg strength.

All of December I have been experiencing the following side effects, in order of severity:

a constant ache in my left side, waist high

loss of appetite - severe enough that I am now contemplating buying a preparation
from the chemist for invalids

severe constipation - I am taking 6 Coloxyl tablets with senna daily, eating prunes (which I
hate), drinking lots of water and 2 sachets of Movicol daily

severe depression

mood swings

back pain (still)

One wonders if one is ever going to feel well again.

I had a cancerous legion removed from the side of my face. Endone has been my saviour. The pain relief is worth the itching!!
