Epanutin

i'm 30 years old.i've been on epanutin for 11 years (3*100).recently i'm getting depressed alot ,feel sleepy, putting on wieght and what is really annoying me is i forget alot even the small routine things like (where i put my keys ...).my doctor says it's okay .but i don't feel it is .

I am on 300 m of epanutin but still get blackouts have been to my neurolagist and he does all the reflex tests and i pass yet he still prescibes more what do yourecommed ?

At the age of 40 I suddenly started having Grand Mal Epileptic Attacks in my sleep. I started with 300mg Epanutin Capsules but would still get the attacks. The dosis was increasd to 350mg and eventualy to 400 mg Epanutin Capsules. Eventually 2 X .05 Rivotril tablets was added. Since taking Epanutin (400gram) at bedtime with 2 X 05mg Rivotril Tablets for the last 20 + years there is no sign of the epileptic Attacks any more - Thank you God. I take a small Folic Acid tablet every day as well.
I take ½ Disprin every day as I have been in hospital a few times now due to Thrombosis. Thrombosis is also in my genes as my father died from a blood clot going though his heart and my Mom has also been admitted quite e few times for blood clots. The Docters had to amputate her one leg due to blood clots.

I have no lack of sleep. I have a memory loss that I can handle by making notes all the time and keeping my day to day dairy at my side all the time.

But.... I now suffer from Ostioporosis. I was told that this is due to the use of the Epanutin Capsules. I have to take 2 Calcium tablets every day and 1 Ostiobon-70 (The Fosamax is far too expensive) one day per week. I have to watch my diet and make sure I eat enough foods that contains Calcium. Due to backache I cannot sweep the floors or bend easily I was told to take a brisk walk for at least 20 minutes each day. I now suffer from cramps in my legs and in my toes. Is this also due to a lack of Calcium?

If I continue with my daily Calcium intake in my food, the Calcium Tablets, the weekly Ostiobon-70 tablets, the Folic Acid Tablets and the 20minute walk every day. Will these eventually be of help to me not to lose any more Calcium in my bones?

ive been taking epanutin for 21years and after this time my memory is terrible. i work in a pharmacy and have been unable to carry out my job. short term memory is affacted badly. i suffer from insomnia also. this has been a frightening experiance and i dont know what to do next.

I have elevated liver enzymes which my doctor says it is probably down to the fact that i have been taking epanutin for 20 years. I have also had chemo and raium therapy due to a tumor in the brain that was malignant.
I am permanently tired have a loss of memory quite badly was diagnosed as having a hiatus hernia a few years ago after telling my doctor about having to a poor apetite and extremely strong stomach pains. i have chest pains regularirly but my doctor doesnt seem to think there is a problem but i am concerned. I have arthritis in one knee and painful joints all over my bady.

I dont kno wif i am imagining all this or is it real? Noone seems to want to help me find out. Sometimes i feel i have totally lost the plot!! Please help me

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy about 2 months ago after small misdiagnosed seizures evolved into 'Grand Mal' seizures.

I have been taking 300mg Epanutin per day (3x100mg capsules), and so far have had no further seizures, small or large.

My doctor told me to take the 3x100mg capsules at night after dinner, but they sometimes cause bad insomnia.

I have also noticed that after I take the medication in the evening, my mood and general sense of wellbeing is drastically improved.

Is there any way I could rather take my medication during the daytime, to prevent the insomnia, and also improve my mood and wellbeing during the day instead of at night?

before im taking dilantin but now im taking epanutin since this is the only available in my current location. im taking epanutin for 2 years already 400mg per day. 2 months before im experincing skin allergy/rashes at night. im taking medicine base on the recommendation of my dermatologists and my blood test is normal. yet im still having rashes if i dont take the medicine. i was wondering if this is one of the side effects of epanutin and what can i do. any comment please. thanks.

I'm new usin epanaitin, just to take care of post epileptic aura. Chew Valium 10 mg and tha epanautin 100mg.
This is avoid the normar intake od oxcarbamezepine 2100/day divided in two intakes morning 900mg and evening 1200mg,also in the evening I tae 150mg phentoyn. My case is severe I went trougth a brain temporal lobe reseption to take of as much as possible the artioschlerotic part od my temporal lobe, bur this was nor the final solution, was a palatieve for the future possible damage.

it is normal reaction and the usage of epanutin cause phlebitis.

I'm from South Africa and I'm a female.  I started getting Epelepsy Grand Mal Attacks only whilst asleep, at the age of 41 years.  I was sent for x rays and eventualy to a  neuro surgeon who sent me for a sonar.  I was put on Epanuten 300mg, later 350mg and eventualy on 400mg.  Later 2 X .05mg of Rivotral Tablets was added.  That was the end of my terrible Epeleptic Attacks  (Thank you God)   I was taken off the tablets (1 capsule per month) as no more atttacks occured and it was felt that if my body don't need the medication I should not use it.   I was on the last tablet (2 weeks to go) and the severe attacks started again  (Once again only whilst I'm asleep).  Needless to say I'm back on the full dosage (for the rest of my life)   I have to take a small Folic Acid Tablet every day as well.
It was found that Ostioporoses has stepped in, caused by the Epanutin.  The Ostioporoses has gotten worst allthough I am on medication fot that as well.
I suffer from Ashtma, I was on HRP replacement but that was stopped, I take medication for Thrombosis (was hospitalised 5 times).  The Ostioporoses is a direct result of me using Epanutin capsules on a daily basis.

Is this the normal reaction.

epanutin is used in epileptic crises and must be aware of its adverse effects like rash and decrease hg

i had an accident sustained head injury was put on epanutine and reacted 5wks after

I have been taking this medicine for 10 months.  At first the symptoms being, dizzy, blurred vision, lethargic, muscle twitching, and my neurosurgeon misstook them for a brain tumour.  should get weaned off in August.

i,ve taken epanutin 300mg every day for over 4years,can it make you feel dizzy and have blurred vision

I am taking Epilim 500 CR and have been for years, 500 mg. I am in a different country and can only find Epanutin 100 mg. Is it as good as Epilim and how many must I take of the Epanutin sine I take a stronger Epilim, 100 mg versus 500 mg ?
