    My father was given Ertapenem last week by IV and within a few days was hallucinating, unable to speak properly, suffering from restlessness, agitation, he is unable to sleep, seems to be having waking nightmares, we are frightened now that the side effects of this drug will not wear off. He was last given an infusion on Wednesday and three days later he is no better. Can anyone tell me if the side effects do subside - he is now in hospital?
