32 days on ezertrol 10mg and have severe abdominal cramping and look 6months pregnant, don't know
where to go from here, back to the Doctor!!!

Is it all bad news, I was only put on Ezetrol today. Unable to take stalins!!!

been on all statins, now on ezetrol, first I was fine now after 3 months every finger aches, cramps at night , every limb aches, and I feel like my neck is broken and burning sensation down my left arm. Why do we have so many side effects when all these medications are supposed to help us. The tiedness is enough to send you mental and the nausea a few times a week does not help either...As we all know there are people worse off than us, but all this does not help my life style...and I guess many of yours

I have been taking Lipitor for 3 months rigidly with no cholesterol decrease. A week ago I was put on Ezetrol as well as Lipitor. l had already noticed some joint pain and a significant decrease in energy levels. However since the Ezetrol has been added I am continuously exhausted, which is a horrible experience for someone who is normally full of energy and does daily classes at the gym. I have noticed itchy skin, frequency of urination, urinary track infection. decrease in visual acuity, joint pains and muscle aches. I have stopped going to the gym, so that can't be the cause of the aches and pains. I have decided that I am not going to take any more of the cholesterol lowering medications so that I can resume my active life style and try to manage the other cardiac risk factors as much as possible.

Oh and I look 6 months pregnant with a herd of elephants and part of my face is still red.

6 weeks ago I was put on Ezetrol after having reactions to statins. After the first 10mg tablet, taken at night, I woke the next day to feel very sick and unco-ordinated. This feeling of unwellness continued and I rang my GP in the afternoon, and explained what was happening, and asked if it would be a reaction to the Ezetrol. I was informed it was probably not a reaction to the medication, so I took another 10mg tablet that night. The next day I awoke to feelings of a tightness in the face and throat. When I got up and looked in the mirror, I was so swollen and red, and knew it was a severe reaction, as I thought it was in the first place. This is what my face looked like after 2 X10mg tablets.

Now, some 6 weeks later, I am experiencing major muscle cramps, pain & swelling, large increase in weight, joint pain, stiffness in the muscles and my entire back goes into muscle spasm. Just pain all over. I only took 2 10mg ezetrol tablets and am still having this reaction. I was put on prednisolone for 4 days, 25mg, and then weaned off in the next 5 days.

Heart ok ..cholesterol high,been taking Ezetrol for six weeks now due to being allergic to Statins..

Side effects have now kicked in and feel throughly misrable...increases urination especially at night ,muscle cramps+ pain and swelling , joint pain, itchy skin, lower back ache.... Doc has taken me off these now have know idea where we go from here.Am willing to take any tablet with mild or moderate side effects but these and all the statins made feel many years older than my age ...A KILLER ! :(

I agree with all comments so far. I've developed Dupuytrin's syndrome in my left hand. Middle finger tendon inflammation. My Doctor said it wasn't related. BS! I KNOW my body. Don't know what else to do for my cholesterol. I've tried them all. :-(

severe weakness in hands,very painful cramping in limbs & abdomen.

Taken Ezetrol for 3 years I am experiencing severe muscle neck pains and clicking in the jionts. Arthritis? Now resolving within 2 weeks after stopping Ezetrol.

Excessive tiredness, sore knees after working or exercise,constant flu like effect.

After one day, extreme fatigue and swelling in the ankles.

This drug is poison and should be pulled. No warranty or return on product by manufacturer.

I took Ezetrol and it was OK at first but after about 8 weeks I had severe pain in my left elbow, kept me awake at night. I stopped taking Ezetrol and it slowly got better.
I also had ntire nights when I did not sleep.I also had muscle ahes whereby streching or getting up from sitting was a strain.
I also had a lot of under skin itching on my hands and feet.. There was nothing to see but awful itching especially on my feet and hands.
I came oof it for a while but the Doc said it wouldnt cause side effects. So I tried it agian. Within a week the itching,sleepless nights and joint aches returned.So I am coming off it and would prefer a slightly raised chorlesterol.

This is interesting. I have taken Ezetrol for a few years. Over that time I have developed acute myalgia over my entire body. It was not localized in the joints, but seemed to be spread throughout my muscle tissue. At times it took great effort just to stand up. I also fought chronic fatigue, ankle soreness and ongoing indigestion problems.

My doctor tested me for just about everything imaginable, but found nothing of note. Then we decided to discontinued all medication. With in a few weeks, I started to experience a lessening of all symptoms. About two weeks ago, I started taking Ezetrol again, just to be sure what I was feeling, was side effects of the drug. My symptoms have returned. Hum, I think I have good reason to be concerned.

Developed joint  pain in right elbow have been unable to straighten it, then started to develop joint pain in my knees.  Have stopped Ezetrol and within 3 days the joint pain in knees has gone and in the elbow the pain is easing.  Where to  from  here, unable to tolerate statins, I exercise daily, eat a sensible diet ??????????????

Joint pain has been my main issue along with bad cramping at night.

I have headache and pain on my heel. I used this drug for 2 days only

I have been experiencing pain in my right foot especially in the heel and lower area. I have started Ezetrol 2 weeks ago

I have been experiencing alot of shortness of breath, and I wpnder if Ezetrol could be contributing to this.

The most excruciating leg cramps at night, sometimes affecting all muscle groups at once!! Taking Quinine which helps slightly.

Took one pill by itself no statins. Several hours later left breast and surrounding lymph nodes extremely sore and swollen, numbness and pain in left arm, as well as stomach discomfort.

Loss of taste and smell

Weak and heavy feelings in the muscles in my legs which makes walking for exercise much more difficult than before. 

since taking ezetrol i have experienced severe muscle pain near the buttox and after sitting for a while find it painful to get up and walk.

I am taking EZtrol and am getting a lot of headaches and dizziness, is this EZtrol doing to me

A few weeks ago I went to see the doctor because my hand was so swollen that I could not open them in the morning. I take metformin as well and now my fingers have swelled and they have turned a bit of purplish in color now the color has faded and my fingers are swollen> My doctor told me its in my head these problems I went to many doctors and finally one told me it maybe my medication and believe me I saw many doctors there is something wrong with your heart your kidneys all the necessary tests were done they found nothing its my pills so I read somewhere if you take metformin and ezetrol you must take a B-12 supplement I take a perscription vitamin it has all the B complex vitamin mix it with water and drink it never felt better my dosage has changed and I feel great.

I have been taking Ezetrol for only two/tree weeks and I have developed a going to be severe case of haemmoroids. Not very nice.

I have been taking Ezetrol for 6 months without any side effects but now i have developed muscle pain in my right leg and my skin is very itchy.  I have also reported pains in the stomach and under my right side ribs but she said it is nothing.  I think it is something as it hurts and feels like there is swelling under my ribs. My doctor also said my heart was beating too fast but again did not think is was a side effect of any medication but does not know what it is.  I feel like a guinea pig for the drug company.

i am taking ezetrol almost 3 years,i feel little cramps at night which delay my sleep up to 2 hours,lowered my cholosterol.i take supplement and muscle relaxing vitaman which helps a lot in relieving cramps.itried all drugs like liptot ,crester.statin,i found ezetrol better

Having tried Lipitor to reduce my cholesterol of 8.2 I suffered severe muscular pains and could not continue with the medication even though it had reduced my levels to normal. I was told that I would not be able to have statins so was prescribed Ezetrol which reduced my cholesterol but I suffered severe pain and swelling in my feet.I decided to stop taking the medication and for two years tried to reduce levels with a low fat diet,sadly this did not work so I am back on Ezetrol in the hope that all will be well this time. Having been on it for two months I notice that my ankles and feet swell in the evening and I am suffering from restless legs and insomnia. I wonder if this is due to the medication .I am desperate to keep my Cholesterol levels down as I already have 40% clogging of my coronary artery and a strong family history of heart  complaints. Would Wild salmon omega 3 really help?

I am 55 years old male, use ezetrol for 3 years and get symptoms right side of my upper body. After doctors examened me they remove my gal bladder. Now after 4 months I started to get double vision and sever head-aches and and pain is both eyes. I stopped use ezetrol and I feel 100% beter! My double vision is almost gone! Could this be a side affect?

Taking for 1 week. Severe kidney pains and increased urination

I have had previous surgery for colon cancer. I have been cancer free for 3 years. A few months ago my Doctor prescribed Ezotrol and I have had severe cramps in the area where I had my surgery. Also, some tenderness to the touch in the same area. My Dec. CT scan was clear. Could this be caused by this medication?

funny thing same happened to me. when i woke up three days after taking ezetrol i thought my ankle was going to blowoff...so I suspected it was a valve in my vien...doctors said it was nothingand sent me home. This wasafter I had explosive and scary reaction to Lipitor (from both ends) andwas rushed to hospital in an ambulance ...nothing wrong again.....then took Crestor and began to have pains in legs, hips and knees...sothey put me on eztrol andI am still having weird muscle pain and twitches ...try wild salmon omega 3s...they will do more for you than all the others put together!

I have recently started taking Ezetrol and I too have experienced "weak" legs. It's difficult and painful for me to stand up quick... getting up from floor level takes minutes....I also have a swollen and painful ankle which I didn't seem to have before but assumed I have damaged it somehow and wasn't aware how! Could this be a side affect. Also experiencing nausea a couple of times a day (especially before meals)

Tried the statins and they nearly killed me. Cholestrol of 7.9 (genetic it seems). Hate taking these tablets. Any suggestions please... *DONT_KNOW*

i have recently started taking Ezetrol, and have experienced very sore heavy eyes. Is this normal?
