• 2 weeks on it- terrible insomnia…

2 weeks on it- terrible insomnia and blood pressure went from regular 120/62 to 130/80
Felt as if I were on Prednisone!
Stopped drug.

• I was taking the generic…

I was taking the generic flonase for sinus for about one week. I suddenly lost 50% vision in my right eye and may lose 100% 1-2 yrs. Three weeks prior to this diagnosis I had a complete eye exam all was OK. Has anyone experienced severe vision problems. This is called Optical stroke or ischemic optic neurpoathy. I am working with a large eye hospital team to ID what was the cause. Can't be corrected by Rx or surgery.

• I started using the generic…

I started using the generic version of Flonase 4 days ago. Yesterday I began to experience severe dizziness, nervousness, faint feelings. I am an RN and checked my blood pressure and heart and these are all normal. I discontinued the Flonase and expected that it would be gone today, but so far no change. Does anyone know how long it will take for these symptoms to subside?

• I was on Flonase for a sinus…

I was on Flonase for a sinus infection over 10 years ago I've been diagnosed with hyposmia as a result. My sense of smell is almost completely gone!

• I started using flonase a…

I started using flonase a month ago shortly after using it my nose started bleeding on the right side , it would bleed a few minutes then stop then it continued ,off and on after I stopped using the drug , should I contact my DR ?

• I started looking at Flonase…

I started looking at Flonase side effects AFTER being on it for about a month. No question that it relieved my "stuffy nose." I'm 62, a non-smoker and passed a heart stress test 6 months ago. I was at the super market about a week after starting Flonase; I experienced severe burning chest pain with weakness to the point that I felt I'd fall if I didn't hang on to the cart. This lasted about 30 minutes and then poof, it was gone! Well, I thought it was that indigestion thing often mistaken for a heart attack. The tightness in my chest returned several times over the next 2 weeks. During those episodes, my blood pressure went from the 120 / 75 range to 160 / 90 and pulse from mid 70's to over 90. These events lasted from about an hour to several hours and then went away; BP and pulse returning to normal range. Then, there was the joint pain radiating from the left shoulder to the elbow and into the wrist. It would hit suddenly as I tried to fall asleep; neither aspirin, tylenol nor Aleve would touch it. These pains would also resolve as suddenly as they appeared. Why did I not go to the local ER? Well, I've had plenty of negative experiences accompanying aging parents to the ER. Unless I passed out, I could monitor my own BP and pulse rate. Pain at the ER? First thing is they do is point to a sign that says "No Narcotics Will Be Prescribed" assuming everyone with pain is there because they're a druggie; they'll say "see your Cardiologist as soon as possible" - to even get an appointment will take 6 weeks. A month later you get a bill for $1,000+ even with insurance. Since I do not use other prescription medications, I began wondering if it was possibly the Flonase? Anyway, I started research with the standard reports filed by the manufacturer. Pretty bland stuff. The user reports, however, seemed to consistently report things like chest symptoms, joint pain, difficulty sleeping and irritability. Many of them mirrored my own experience. Yeah, it works, BUT, some folks might experience side effects that aren't reported in the standard FDA approved literature. If you're one of those people, rest assured that it might be the Flonase making you feel like you're having a heart attack; like you're having dizzy spells; like somehow your shoulder joint is being Taser'ed; like you can't sleep; like you're ready to destroy a long friendship with someone who has been momentarily insensitive.

• After my allergies…

After my allergies caused a bad ear ache (Eustachian tube dysfunction) I went to the dr. who prescribed me Flonase. Within hours I developed a headache and just a fuziness that prevents concentration- which hasn't gone away since. That night I began waking up at 3 am and haven't slept longer than 4.5 hours since starting taking it. I noticed the loss of taste and appetite within a day or two, followed by loss of appetite (and really, there isn't much point in eating since there is no taste). After about 4 days I noticed anxiety and feeling on edge. Now I have been dealing with diarrhea- sever diarrhea. I'm not digesting food (it is coming out undigested which I have never seen or heard of before). So on top of not eating much, when I do I am in the bathroom within an hour. I have also been feeling feverish. I go from profound sweating to freezing. I have lost about 3 pounds in 6 days. All of that while I have not been doing my usual workout routine of runing 25 miles a week. I do not have the energy to run and the heart racing makes it impossible. I tried for the first time today and after 10 minutes I thought I might collapse. I emailed my doctor to find out what else will help my ear ache (because it is not gone yet!).

• Within three days of starting…

Within three days of starting Flonase, I had post nasal drip that got heavy over a four hour period, sore throat, painful swallowing, sore neck, congestion worsened. By the following morning, I felt like I had swallowed a rock and it was lodged in the side of my throat. Voice has been disappearing off and on. Still sick, no fever, three days later. Think I would have preferred to just deal with the allergies, because this feels so much worse!

• I have been using a generic…

I have been using a generic version of Flonase on and off since 3 months ago, but starting about a week ago I started having dizziness as well as nervousness and even fainting feelings. At 1st I thought this was part of a recent cold or hay fever, but I never had those symptoms that bad before. Then I read about others having the same problems with that drug--especially the generic version. I quit using it 2 days ago and I need to know how long it'll be before I'm over the jitteriness/.dizziness, etc. Thanx.
