  • After finishing gentamicin…

    After finishing gentamicin treatment which was unfortunately done during fasting period when I would not be able to drink water in the day time, I started to feel some pains around my right knee. the pains were so severe and after sometime, the area went numb. Some days later, I felt the same pain just below the knee and the place too went numb. At the moment, since about three months ago, these two places have been numb with little sensation. Just as if I place ice block on an area for a long time, imagine how the place will feel, I have same feeling till today.

    I was treaten with Gentamicin 7 days long. The dramatic side effect was just the next day.It was ototoxity with tinnitus. My mistake was the unnecessary last dosage.
    Even 2 months later gentamicin was still damaging the ears.
    The only hope is the regeneration research for the hair cells.

    The treatment was in Germany, i didn't get enough information about side effects and dosage.
    The tragedy is that i am a sound designer! &gt;:o
