    I am also experiencing the same thing. I was initially a dose of 2.5 mg and even 5.0 mg would also cause blood suger to drop quickly giving a sort of hypoglycemic symptoms. But Recently I got a generic prescription for 10mg and it is not that effective. Second, I too had a burning in urination and bad smell in urine. I am also investigating this. It appears that a company in India was sysnthesising the glipizide moldecule and they discovered that there was an active isomer and also a very less active isomer which was to be removed to obtain pure Glipizide. I am not sure if the companies in the US marketing Gererics are buying the pure API or the mixed API? FDA needs to investigate.

    On Glipizide 10 yrs and had no problems until I got refilled with a different generic.  After taking the first pill yesterday I had a bad attack of dysuria burning and acid feeling urine, very painful. Maybe the new pills come from China?  Has anybody had the same experience?
