Hydromorphone

In emergency, was given an injection, my face/mouth started to swell, turn red / flush,excessive sweating; leg/stomach cramps - charlie horse
Day2 Tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing / hiper-ventilating. No sleep for 2 nights
Still emergency drs gave me, until a week day dr listened to my objections and I was admitted for surgery, the 2 nurses tried to act on my behalf but drs in emergency donot communicate with one another.
No wonder there are sooo... many people get hooked on medical drugs
It was like I was held hostage and fed this even when I objected over and over.
There has to be some accountablity to these drs that over medicate and donot listen to patience in front of them not in a text book, they lack COMUNICATION

I am having vomitting and diaharea every three days and I have lost the taste for food What can I take to stop these side effects

i spent 8 hours in the "emergency?" room, then went into a migraine.  They wouldln't allow me to take the meds I've taken for years, that WORK, they gave me DILAUDID.  I went into CARDIAC ARREST, and my lung collapsed.  I spent four days in CARDIAC CARE UNIT, and one day in a regular rooml  Much memory loss!

I have expereinced this side effect twice. both times I was given HYdromorphone. at first the medicine seemed to help with my pain but then after being in the hospital for 2 days I started to ecperience leg pain. it was like charlie horses or leg spasms but worse.

Also I was 15 at the time and I am a female.

I was given this in hospital once ... most horrible experience of my life. I am not sure how much I had, but it made my pain worse, I would be hallucinating all of the time and barely conscious, I would vomit everything I ate or drank (even water), I couldn't walk at all and I could barely breathe and I was cold all of the time. I would also sweat a lot, I would have panic attacks and cry uncontrollably and I would not sleep. I mentioned these things to the nurses and they did not pay attention to me and called me stupid and yelled at me. I asked to go off it and go on other painkillers but they would not let me.

I WOULD NOT recommend this drug to anyone - do not let anybody give you this. Stay as far away as possible ... if you have been given tablets throw them in the bin or burn them. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!
