Lantus

After injecting Lantus solo star I have severe leg and arm anxiety and unable to sleep.

how much is too much I am at 65 units>

Lantus would be great but it peaks about 12 hours after injected.  I only take 7 units every day.  has anyone else noticed this?  is there any way to work around this?

I have gain 20lbs.,pain in my legs,could hardly walk.Fluctuations with blood sugars!

I inject 12 units of Lantus in the a.m. but also take 2.5 mgs. of Lisinopril, Metoprolol 25 mgs. and 15 mgs. of Imdur.  Am I potentiating the effect of the Lantus with these other drugs?

great!!! I have been able to stop taking all other insulins now that I take 20 units of lantus each day.  I also have decided to eat nothing that is bad for me either; I guess that is kinda important to mention as well.  But seriously, I feel I am half way to fixing myself.  I know ... Type 1's have no cure! But I may be the first.... you never know!! 

Lantus has enabled me to stop playing the yo yo short tern/longer short term game while trying to eat my usual old american diet (unhealthy).  Now, I have the base regulated and simply eat organic fresh vegies, some limited fruits and nuts, very little chicken and or beef anymore... most protien I get is from eggs/nuts.  My current two worries now are:  How bad does Lantus deteriorate my heart and or any other parts of my body?  And also... I just learned that my no good pancrease is also responsible for producing digestive enzymes... so do I need enzymetheropy to make up some sort of deficiency?  I keep an eye on my kidneys but don't want to be reactive.  I'm all about proactive now days.

I don't know how long you have been diabetic, I have been one for 31 yrs and diarhoria is another one of those lovely complications from diabetes that they don't tell you about. It not only damages the nerves inyour legs, but in your intestines too!

Also i get diahorrea more regularly than non-diabetics for what seems like no reason atall. I strongly suspect lantus. PH clashes can not possibly be a good thing

lantus is nt working for me atall, sometimes it will be extremely potent leading to a horrible kind of feeling of blood sugar levels being pushed down. other times it will work the other way and be useless and ineffective. I'm currently trying to get on an insulin pump. I have found out that lantus is a different ph to the rest of the boy which is clearly going to have some side effects! that is unbelivably obvious! yet why is it still being pushed onto patients. I'm not saying levemir is any better, the best alternative sounds to me like the way insulin pumps send small pulses of rapid acting insulin into the blood every 5 minuets, mimicking the way a normal pancreas would work and making it easier to adjust when things go wrng as opposed to being "stuck" with a certain amount of insulin in your body the moment you inject it.

does lantus have a side effect of diahorria ?
