Levaquin

I couldn't take it. It made me so dizzy I couldn't get out of bed without my head swirling and resultant vomiting. I tried it for 2 days then had to quit because I had to leave my house and couldn't walk, much less drive like I was.

My wife sustained a spontaneous rupture of her right anterior tibail tendon after taking Levaquin for 3 days

I also took the same amount of Levaquin for 10 days in November 2009

It crippled every joint in my body, I am not kidding - pain has waved over my entire body...

If you carefully read; one side effect is Severe Tendonitous ... something I have
had for years; now it brought all my conditions to a forefront, including Fibromyalgia, also Diabetic Neuropathy.

It has been a year and 4 months, while I still have twitches, or spasms - they are not anything like the beginning.

I assure you I am definately allergic to this drug ~ it is not my doctor's fault as this is a very well known drug for many uses; I am just sensitive.

I am now feeling much better; as in I am recovering from this drugs side effect - many can read these comments,  also have taken this drug, it did not effect them like it does to a rare few.

There is truly nothing but time to over come this drugs bad effect.

I am not going to offer herbal possibilities; this is not the place!! But there are some that may help - do the searches!

250 mg 1 time for 10 days.  I started taking it on December 10, 2010 and finished on December 19th.  I kept taking it thinking it was just because I was doing to much to get ready for the holiday.  I was completely wrong.  Here it is December 27th and I find myself in pain in ALL of my joints.  My knees and arms are the worst.  I hurt from head to toe.  I have extreme weakness.  I have trouble opening jars and doors that normally would not be an issue.  I am extrememly tired although I have trouble sleeping.  I am normally on my feet all day for my job up to 14 or more hours per day.  Usually in the neighborhood of 12 to 13.  I am a Flight Attendant and am required to get down on the floor to access supplies in the galley.  I normally just pop back up and keep on going.  I am not having trouble getting down on the floor.  I find it extremley painful to kneel.  When I have to get back up I have to use the galley counter and an assist handle to pull myself back up.  I also have extreme tightness in the back of my knees.  It feels like a tendon being pulled.  I didn't realize that the Levaquin was the problem until I had stopped taking it.  I started to feel a slight and I mean slight bit better.  My knees felt like they were the size of basketballs at the end of 10 days.   A few more days they felt like melons.  Now they feel more like grapefruits inside my knees.  The pain however has not continued to disappear.  The other night in the hotel room.  I cried myself to sleep.  Before I went to sleep I wrote a note and left it on the desk in my hotel room.  I was feeling so bad I wanted someone to know what I had been taking should they find me the next day very ill or sad to say, but dead.  I know that sounds dramatic, but when  you are so tired and in major pain and can't sleep you think maybe that is what will happen.  I have carpal tunnel in my right hand, but I have been having trouble with both hands now.  I was just tested recently and found it is only in my right hand.  Since I took the Levaquin I have had severe pain in both my hands and arms in the morning.  They will wake me up with the pain.  I can feel the pain all in my forearm and through my hands.  Also my lower back in very stiff and has a lot of pain.  In addition, my left foot has a lot of pain and the toes feel stiff and numb at times.  I have been experiencing tingles in ny hands, arms and and feet.  I know the list goes on, but not sure what can be done.  I called my Dr. and he gave me another antibotic to try to take care of my sinus infection.  I am not sure what they can do about this.  I told the nurse when I called about my pain, but I don't think she realized I am as bad as I am.  I thought it would be gone by now.  What can be down to help this?  I can't keep going like this.  I need to work and be active.  I am  miserable.

What can I do to relieve the severe pain in shoulders, arms, legs, knees which came on as a side effect of levaquin?
