had the lumps also, you need to inject at least two to three inches away from last injection site so lumps won't come and best to inject in stomach along back sides. Good Luck, the lumps will go away

margaret, ask your doctor if you are deficient in vitamin D which can cause hair loss. I was deficient in this and had the same experience. I also get lumps where I inject but they do go away. you can also try splitting the dose to two different sites. I hope this helps. Take care.

During the summer I have been esxpieriencing chest pains and ewaking up with heart racing.  Than lately I had a rash and the doctor didn't take notice.  ater that I had a bad kidney infection and they just uped my dosage. of levemir. I'm afraid to take it anymore since now i wake up with my liver side burning sensation. I feel like my body has been compromised, also getting the itching and rashes disturbing me. I've asked two doctors to change it they give me excuses.  I need to make a stink in order for them at the clinic to do anything.

Went in hospital for food poisoning,found glucose high and hospital put me on Levemir, after month or so later pain at all injection sites. Stopped taking it now have severe left upper leg pain where injections were made.Burning and stabbing pains, can not even wear clothing over area. Going from doctor to doctor no one can figure it out .I am on Vicodine now until someone helps me, can not sleep, and afraid might lose my job

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 18 months in 1983. Ive used numerous types of insulin, the last being Lantus which in the beginning was a very smooth insulin (kept my blood sugar level around 7 constantly, as opposed from frequent hypoglycaemia and Diabetic Keto-acidosis levels) but over the space of two years it became less effective forcing me to search for an alternative. My specialist prescribed Levemir which i picked up from the pharmacy 3 days ago. I have used it twice so far, both times 37 units from a Novo Nordisk 3 pen, and now i have two very large semi painful lumps where i injected. Otherwise the insulin is working good. It is Friday night now which means i will not be able to contact the specialist for a few days. Has anyone else had this problem? do the swollen lumps subside quickly? Im a bit worried as to whether i should inject this stuff tomorow

I started using Levemir  four months ago, for type two diabetes,I was diagnosed ten years ago, I noticed my hair is falling out  and recently after injecting myself  i am  develpoing large  painful lumps at the injection site
