Losec

I'd been taking the Losec for about a week and lost the sight in my right eye and stopped taking them immediately. Thankfully, the sight returned. Very frightening. I also had a racing heartbeat.

Wow i got vertigo a while back really badly and now i get less severe vertigo all the time...looks like thats down to the Locex as well along with all the other symptoms...i'm going to try "nutralize" if you can get it in New Zealand...Jane

I have had a terrible taste in my mouth for years and have been trying to find out why. Finally i've realised its Losec...i've also had bouts where my heart has been raceing...tierdness and now my boans are acheing as if i'm abour 80 years old and i'm only 50...i'm going to try and get off it as soon as i can...hopefully i will find an alternative solution

I have put heaps of wieght on since taking this drug and can't shift it. Some of you have mentioned 'Nutralize'. I have Googled it but nothing came up. Any idea where I can get this?

i would just like to know that if i take one more dose of a losec than prescribed to do in one go, is it harmful?

from extended use of losec, MANY stomach polyps. large ones were removed and sent for biopsy. rest will come out in 6 months.

I was diagnosed with Barrets Osophogitis (stomach tissue grows up the osophogus) nearly 16 years ago after a severe reflux episode that nearly killed me. The acid came up and down into my lungs. An experience reserved for war movie torture methods. I have been on Losec ever since and will be for the rest of my life. There is nothing else out there that does the same job for me. My only dilema with the drug is that I was also diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 and put straight on insulin. Because Losec slows down the digestive food process I dont usually have my meals fully digested until nearly 6 hours later and have had many problems with working out a correct dosage of insulin as the slower carbohydrate release into the body throws the insulin time frame out the window. Can anyone please tell me if there has been any studies on Losec effecting Diabetics and ways around this problem?

Hello - yes see my blog added today to this site re losec.  My doctor told me it was all in my mind when I went to see him about vomiting etc as I couldnt get anything down - and yes sometimes dizzy too. Yuk drug.  Try a natural cider vinegar product like the new "nutralize" - nothing short of brilliant.

I started taking losec 2 1/2 years ago for a constant cough and gag problem I had.  At the time I had never experienced any "heart burn" pain at all, just this constant cough/choke on phlegm that made everyone think I had the plague!  The doctors diagnosed acid reflux as my lungs were clear.  To me it felt more like an asthma/allergy irritation to the max but initially the losec helped quite well. After a few months the symptons came back and seemed to get worse.  It got to the point everything I ate choked me like my throat closed up and/or automatically regurgitated. Very horrible, as I even starting coughing/choking so much sometimes when I ate - like I just couldnt get it down and digest it. I went back to the doctor for a reassessment and was told it was "psychological" - yeah right.  I also started breaking out in skin sores that would blister and take ages to heal - then they would return. Also developed eczema in various places that would clear up with treatment only to return. No end of skin problems. Couldn't sleep at night as coughed and choked so much - not related to any particular food or drink.
I finally gave up losec two weeks ago cold turkey.  My choking and coughing stopped almost immediately and my sores and eczema is clearing up.  I feel so much better.

Just seems that the reason I went on Losec ending up being the same reason I have now gone off it.  I am now taking a course of probiotic to get my tummy back to normal and also a natural product called "nutralize" - a cider vinegar and manuka honey based remedy which is fantastic. One sip and it settles things down with no side effects and last for days.  Once my gut has had a chance to recover I hope to never have to go on this horrid drug again.

Yes! stomach pain, abdominal pain and gas are side effects! I know this for a fact! But omg the pain, i sneeze and it feels like i have been doing 3 thousand sit ups! I'm so over the pain!

Would headaches, sore tongue, dizziness, nausea be the result of using Losec for three years?

Nusea to the point of almost vomiting and medium vertigo

only medication I am on (for 10 plus years) now shortness of breath and easily fatigued, any connection?

my doctor has taken me off losec because i am on clopedogerel is there a different medection i can take
