Suffering from severe itching since taking Lovaza...??

I am having a problem with a rash that my doctors can't explain. It is not itchy or draining or crusty. It is just raised bumps in a cluster which seems to be only on my feet and ankles. I have eliminated fabric softener and use a detergent that is fragrance free and free of dyes. It doesn't bother me other than its appearance.

I have taken lovaza for almost a week. Yesterday I became nauseated, had migraine like headache, and my heart was hurting. I also feel unusually tired.
I did not equate these with lavaza until I read more side effects and symptoms. I only took two pills today an just feel tired

I have been back on Lovaza and Metformin for the past week (took it before, stopped because of the server side affects due to too high a dosage) and now I find that I can not get a restful night sleep (not to mention the gas, bloating, painful stomach). Right when I go to bed I am fine and knock right out but by 2:00am I am tossing and turning until it's time to get up. I personally don't know if this is caused by the Lovaza or the Metformin or the combination. Anyone else have this issue?

After 3 days of taking Lavaza 1 tab twice day, I began feeling like I had a bad case of the flu. I felt extremely weak and lifeless. I had intermittent nausea and a dull but migriane-like headache. I could compare the symptoms or the way I felt to an experience I had several years ago with food poisoning. The way I felt was severe and scary. I stopped taking it when the symptoms started and because the syptoms were so severe from the onset --- . I talked to the pharmacist about this and read all the literature & learned flu like symptoms is a side effect; and some reports state it is the most common side effect. Right now I am starting to feel better but the weakness is lingering. I have notified my doctor.I am writing this to say if I would have read more before taking this and thought about it more I would not have taken it.I have no allergies to fish or have never had any problems with fish in my diet. There is no flu or flu bug going around.

I have been on Lomaza just a short time__about three weeks. I am constantly passing gas and I have very loose stools. Also, the bottoms of my feet are starting to hurt when I walk and my legs are achy. Has anyone else had these kind of reactions? I have not been able to take any other kind of cholesterol medicine__this was my last effort.

I have had frequent gas. The only thing that really concerns me is my sugar level is higher. Not outrageously high, but higher. I was taking half of a 1000 mg. Metformin tablet twice a day. My fasting sugar was 100-110. After medication and breakfast the two hour reading was 65-87. Now it's 100-120 and that's after increasing to a whole Metformin, twice a day AND walking 3 miles an hour on the treadmill. I've only been on Lovaza for about five weeks so it will be awhile before I know if it is helping. Wondered if any other diabetics could give me information on what to expect with the sugar.

I have been taking Lovaza for about 1 year with some but small positive effect on blood lipids. In addition, I believe that I have correlated tiredness and upset stomach to the 4 gm/day total dosage taken in the morning and at dinner. I stopped taking Lovaza 3 days ago and though it is early yet, I don't seem as tired and my stomach upset is much less. Still, this may be subjective.

Here is something else. I've had recurring blisters on 2 of my fingers and a couple of toes. They have occurred, broken and reformed continuously over the last 6 months or so; the fingers also itch a little. I didn't connect this to the Lovaza until yesterday when I noticed that the blisters seem to be drying, and the fingers "feel" some tingling. This is all very early and may be entirely subjective. I have tried to get an appointment with a dermatologist, but that is basically hopeless. I'm going to give this a few more days and then give my regular doc a call.

This is rather mysterious, and I would be interested if anyone else has seen "blisters."

I am wondering if Lovaza is making my sugar higher. It was running 100-105 in the mornings. Now it is 110-115. Two hours after Metformin, Lovaza and breakfast is was 70-95. Now it is sometimes 100-105. I have no other reactions but I have only been on it five weeks.

Soon after starting on Lovaza, cataracts started developing. I wasn't aware enough to think it might be the Lovaza. Didn't even come to mind. And my ophthalmologist never even brought it up as a possibility. Now, only 2 years later, the cataracts have to come out; I need lens replacement in both eyes. I'm only in my early 50's, and no one in my family has ever had cataracts. I'm not taking any other medications regularly. So Lovaza is the prime suspect. Question - once my lenses are replaced, will continued use of Lovaza cause other damage, either to my eyes or elsewhere? Any advice apprciated bfarkas@attaglobal.net 

anthony, thank you.  I thought I was going nuts.  Weight gain would be an understatement. Bloating and gas too.  Not sure I want to continue this and I have not been on the 'full' dose --- misread the label and am happy I did.

have been on Lovaza since July and have had constant bloated feeling, gas, constipation, and weight gain with no other change to my diet or exercise regimen.

Press in eyes. Had to have laser procedure to place small hole in color of eye to remove water contain in eyes. Also developed cataracts on boths eyes during this time. All happen in short period of time while on Lovaza.

Also I had a salty taste in my mouth after taking Lovaza for a while. Lumps developed on my face when press released a salty liquid in my mouth. Just before stopping Lovaza I could just press on my cheeks and could taste salty in my mouth.

I am not a diebetic and was shock when cataracts show up before my next yearly eye exam.

What every else is in Lovaza besides Omega 3 most be bad ingriedents for this person.

I am now using omega 3 that has no add ingredients. But the damage is done.

I have been on Lovaza for since June 2010 and my ears kill me, I have gained
20 pounds I want to eat all of the time, my legs hurt all of time not to mention that my back kills me....itching is one of the side effects I just don't think this pill is right for me!

hi i stopped taking lovaza 3 days ago and ive suddenly developed headaches. is it related ?

I've been taking lovaza for about 3 months....and suddenly I have severe, constant hip pain....I've been a solid exerciser for all my life...this is strange.

I have been on Lovaza for about 3 weeks now and i am having dizzy spells that only last a few seconds and come mostly when i lay down and sometimes when i rise.   i hope that this will subside as time goes on, because i dont beleive in taking statins, i beleive they are more dangerous than the trigs and cholesterol!
