i am 49 yrs old. had back surgery in 2010. the hospital used lovinox. i do have  history of blood clots. in previous cases, heperin and coumidin have been used. this is a first for lovinox. had problems with abdominal bleeding/brusing right from the start. they did not send me home with coumidin therapy and ended again back inhospital with dvt clots. back on lovinox and coumidin now.  at home with continued lovinox/coumidin therapy still having issues with abdominol brusing and not even giving injections in that side many times because of it. staing on the right most of the time. even when done with injections brusing stayed for a very long time - almost a month.  had mentioned this to every doctor i had and even the health care nurse that came out during the first few weeks. all i get and this even from the last doctor visit 2 weeks ago, is that it did not matter, next time they were going to make sure i ws on lovinox longer then and no they were not going to use heperin. also when i had the niva scan to check for clots after 6 months in early jan. 2011 this month. there was found fistula abnormal as well as not being clear of clots yet.  i do have the appointment with vascular surgeon coming up very soon. but cannot help but feel that the lovenox contributed to the fistulas in some way. as this has not happened before on the heperin/coumidin therepy treatments.  

I am a 43 year old white female currently undergoing chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer.  I began injections of Lovenox after developing a blood clot in my arm around my catheter while going through chemotherapy.  My first injection was on a Friday - by Monday, I was lathargic and lifeless.  In addition, chest pains woke me up on three separate occasions during the night (Monday evening).  Chest pains continued into the next day.  Continuing to work while going through chemo had been manageable until the Lovenox treatments began.  I went home early two days in a row from exhaustion and also made a trip to the hospital to have an EKG performed.  I expressed HUGE concerns to my oncologist but was told that it couldn't possibly be the Lovenox.  He said it was the chemo.  I strongly disagreed.  Although the chest pains subsided, the lethargy continued.  After three weeks of use and consistent symptoms, he finally agreed to switch me to an alternate medication with minimal/no side effects.  Within four days of discontinuing Lovenox, I am more energetic and feel better than I have in a month!    

I had total hip replacement, am 57 year old male. For 30 days I had to give myself lovenox injections. I would get the chills every evening and did not understand why at the time. Within a couple days after the injections stopped so did the chills.
