Increased heart rate. I have heart problems and take medication to regulate my heart rate and this medication is breaking right through them.

What do you think of an 84 year old woman being prescribed 250mg 2x day....for 30 days?
She has the bacteria mirabelis and entrerococus coli.......chronic UTI

I experienced some breathing issues while taking macrobid. I still feel like my breathing is not right weeks after I finished taking it. It is like someone is sitting on my chest. 

My physician gave me 2 Macrobid capsules to take before he was to do a procedure on me to check for a continuing Urinary Track Infection the next day. I took one capsule before bedtime. Threw up all night long, had terrific stomach spasms, a temperature, diarrhea, nausea and weakness. When I awoke, I was unable to use my legs to stand or turn over in bed due to unbearable knee pain in both knees. I could not lift my head off my pillow nor could I open my eyes to see light. My mouth was so dry, I couldn't swallow. An ambulance was called to take me to the hospital where I stayed for 5 days. It has been three weeks since I was hospitalized and I am still so weak I can hardly stand. My knees still ache. At the advice of a good friend who is a nurse, I am taking pro-biotics to put good bacteria back in my body and am feeling somewhat better day by day. Antibiotics scare me. I am a 69 year old female and facing two surgeries in the near future. I pray God will protect me from more drugs that have potential harmful effects.

I took Macrobid and within two hours could not breath.  It was far worse then shortness of breath, just no air at all.  Had to go to the hospital via ambulance and was hospitalized for about three days.  It was found that Macrobid has a "rare and sometimes fatal" side effect of cutting ones air supply off.

I took macrobid in Jan of 2008 for a bladder infection. By April of 2008 I could hardly walk.  I was diagnosed with Achilles Tendon Damage.  My joints ache and it is hard to get going.  I took this medication for almost 8 months or more. In my feet it feels as though someone is using a razor on the side of my feet and slicing.  The numbness I feel is in my ears.  Everytime I take any pain medication for my feet, it feels like my ears are numbed.

 I am a 65 year old selfemployed lady who  never ailed a thing prior to taking the first dose of macrobid after which I felt ill,After two days I had sickness and no appertite, could not sleep for pains allover body,breathing was tight, hands started to turn blue and fingers were tingeling .Even after I stopped taking macrobid I was left with severe stiffness and  pains in joints and muscles,as a result  I have had to have cortisone injections for the last 18 months,I deeply regret ever taking macrobid.   

Very light headed.  Blood and mucous in stools. Chills.
